Blue Mountain Kelong has played host to guests from all corners of the world. We have 9 guest rooms with a maximum capacity of about 40 persons. So for a relaxing quick getaway, why not hop on the next ferry and ride over to Blue Mountain Kelong. Unwind, relax and soak in the sun...
Pulau Cemara Galang Kepulauan Riau Indonesia
There is a delightful family of 7 mongrels on the resort . Hungry lot as they only eat once a day (9pm). Guards & barks when strangers/visitors come on to structure
Even though rooms were on stilts above seawater, it got sweaty warm at night, disrupting sleep. There is no aircon. More comfortable sleeping in the open, with mattress on the floor, or in a hammock
The bell is rung when meals are ready. When we were there, 4 meals were served daily (including afternoon tea ). Coffee & tea available all day
Journey from Singapore to kelong takes about 2hrs. 70mins ferry ride from Harbourfront Ferry Terminal to Batam; 25mins drive across land to Telaga Punggur port ; 25mins by speedboat to Pulau Cemara
Stargazing. Ask staff to switch off enough lights to study & contemplate on the distant stars
This remote place is more a purpose-built accommodation, instead of an operating kelong (a wooden platform for fish farming )
There is a beach nearby. However, not recommended to go into the water as everything from the kelong is drained into the water, including your toilet business
Beer (Carlsberg 330ml can when we were here) USD 1.80. Coke for USD 0.85. Don't expect drinks to be super-chilled. Ask for ice (limited quantities) if required
Rod fishing is a popular activity, especially for the young ones. Rods, hooks, baits, unhooking service – all provided
We got the occasional fishermen passing by. The only fishing village is about 3km away from this structure
They farm some garoupas here. We ordered for dinner . IDR 250,000 per kg. 2 fish came up to USD 23. Price is comparable to Singapore
Plenty of quiet corners to reconnect with the sea
Average food. Separate charges for fresh seafood from their farm . Expensive for SGD 248 per person for 3D2N stay (incl. food, land & speedboat transfer; excl Singapore-Batam ferry )
