One of the "must visit" places in York. A very elegant, classic tea room with lots of delicious cakes . Great for a breakfast . You might have to wait in the line in some hours.
Great food, great location and great service! We got the English Breakfast , Avocado Toast , Florentine Eggs . All were superb! Coffee and tea were magnificent to top it all off!
This place is the thing to do while you're in York. Usually huge queues outside and very nice atmosphere inside. Although it's nice enough, i can't say the tea was super special
A good brunch on weekends! The Swiss rösti with scrambled eggs is ???????????? chicken club sandwich is also ???????? vanilla and berries buff ????????????
My favourite place in York. Perfect any time of the year, seasonal delights in the window. Go for afternoon tea and get a fat rascal to take away - trust me
Popular with tourists mostly. Known for its afternoon tea , but serves breakfast , lunch and dinners . If the queue goes as far as the Ivy, then expect 30-40 min wait. Reservations are recommended.
Everything. The classic British atmosphere, the tea and the food in this place are amazing.
I recommend Yorkshire fat rascal and florentine Swiss Rosti . Good place for breakfast and good service too, but Come early to avoid the queue.
Just fantastic! The staff was very kind and professional. I had the GF option and I have to say thanks for the great quality and generosity. A very enjoyable experience .
Very classic and famous place. Try their traditional afternoon tea set and you'll love it even if you are by yourself !
Live piano performance with hi-tea, crowded in afternoon. Try to come early morning or evening as they serve brunch and dinner as well
Haddock , prawn and salmon gratin is out of this world. Enjoy with all the chutneys and finish with a browns bread ice cream sundae
Very nice atmosphere and afternoon tea enough for two people , try cream tea and you will not regret
Amazing tea and coffee room . Huge variety and exceptional tastes. Really enjoyed my time there. Lovely staff . Don't miss it!
My meringue with fruit and cream was delightful, as was my wife's egg and cress sandwich . The staff and location are superb!
The lavender scones were amazing! The macaroons were lovely. Great selection of teas .
I had the Yorkshire Afternoon Tea . Tea was excellent and the 2, yes 2, scones with jam and clotted cream were fantastic. Love this place.
Perfect for breakfast ; would recommend the Florentine Swiss Rosti . Afternoon tea is also delicious - don't forget to stop by the shop afterwards!
Probably the most elegant tea càfe I am across recently, beautiful ambience, lovely staff , great music and very decent price!
The perfect place for an English afternoon tea . Their scones and strawberry jam are out of this world
One of the best scones and clotted cream I've had (the jam could be better though). also ordered the chinese rose petal tea - it was great! :D honestly don't see the fuss about the fat rascal though..
Go for Afternoon Tea with Champagne , but make the reservation online to avoid lines .
What can i say about a cafe established on 1919. Simply wonderful in everything.
The Yorkshire fat rascal was amazing. Served warm with some butter. Best scone ever.
One of the best place to have a afternoon tea in UK .. Try the Classic one????????
Stunning tea room - worth a visit and queue.
Lovely food and great tasting ginger beer . Picked up some Jamaica Blue Mountain Peaberry coffee and some China Rose Petal tea - you should too :-)
If you visit York .. Take a break here for an unforgettable Yorkshire tea with a selection of macaroons ..
Book in early if large group of people however I was in the queue for 2hours before getting a seat inside the restaurant :( but the desserts was delicious but the prices are a bit overrated.
Beautiful traditional tea rooms .
Eat a Fat Rascal, and the cinnamon toast . Sit in the ground floor. Get in early and if you have to, wait.
If you go early in the morning, you'll beat the queue - high tea and breakfast is fabulous.
The breakfasts and of course the coffee - gets very busy so go before lunch
Afternoon tea set comes with nice tea
Great Place to have breakfast and also nice cookies
Delicious pastries , breakfast menu and tea selection
Quite overrated to be honest. Not vegan friendly . Worth a try if you're into the whole posh breakfast setting .
Chocolate orange shortbreads are exceptionally good. Stock up!
Absolutely the very best 'Cream Scone ' and Hot Mocha I've ever had!! Don't miss out on this place, lovely.
If you go early, there's no queue - high tea and breakfast is fabulous
I know fat rascal is the specialty but if you have stomach/time only for one scone , go with rarebit.
The most fabulous Yorkshire Tea Service I have ever tasted complete with scones , jam and clotted cream served in an elegant silver service. W O W!
