When traveling Interstate 10 Highway, enormous, cryptic billboards are seen for The Thing? for hundreds of miles, coming from the east starting in Texas and from the west near the Arizona state line .

An interview with Prince’s widow said the mummies were purchased for $50 in the early 1950s from a traveling salesman. Believed to be the work of infamous early 20th century sideshow man Homer Tate.

Pretty cool little museum with antique artifacts . Worth the $1 entrance fee. Nice gift ship too.

Opened at this location in 1965 by Thomas Binkley Prince, who was born in Texas in 1913, it has remained for more than 50 years, though Prince died in 1969.

It’s as dumb as you think it’s going to be. Go in with a good sense of humor and you’ll enjoy it.

Apparently the official count by Roadside America is 247 billboards , spread out over a span of 200 miles. “What is The Thing?” they tease, inspiring a curiosity & a burning need to solve this mystery.

This is a classic cheesy, but fun stop. I say it's worth the stop! ;)

Easy way to stretch your legs and take a break. They even let us take our dog on the tour with us.

Gas is $.30 more than Tucson or Lordsburg! And DQ takes 3x longer to get your food out! Plan accordingly and fuel up your vehicle and yourself elsewhere. :/ One good thing: CLEAN restrooms .

Spend the dollar! It's so worth the tourist experience. I did it ten years ago, and today, on my only two trips cross country on this highway :)

This places closes at 7!! Dumb! If you are on the road and want some soda , snack , or DQ, after 7 it's pointless! The only thing the thing had for us was gas!!

If you're looking for fireworks that are illegal in California and most states ... Keep driving.
