$75 pp for two hrs guided tour . U get a free ginger beer/ale or cider . Ginger beer is excellent but pricy if u wanna buy it. Make sure you wear good walking/hiking shoes/boots!
I highly recommend even if you're not a LOTR fan . You'll learn a lot of interesting things about movie making as well as other interesting facts you don't get to learn about by watching the movies .
Beautiful scenery to say the least. Learn fun facts about the set and simply enjoy and appreciate the creativity and detailed work that went into creating Hobbiton . Wear comfortable walking shoes .
Such a great, cute , and magical experience! Even though it’s a tourist attraction (lots of people) it’s worth it???????? If you’re in NZ, this needs to be on your list ????????♂️
If doing this tour , definitely book ahead. In peak times, it can sell out, though there is a stand-by line . Six of us went on a great sunny summer day (might not be fun if raining), & was fantastic.
It’s a great place to visit especially if you’re a LOTR fan ???????? i suggest you read or watch the movies again before coming here ❤️
Charming tour , well worth the time. Probably better to do the tour en route between Rotorua and Auckland, as it between the two. I did it as a day trip from Rotorua, and that involved lots of driving…
I wanna do it again! Recommend being one of the later groups as you won't have people following you directly. More time for cool photos!
Cool tour ! The hot guide you get for free, even a free hobbit ale . It cost you a bit of money, but everything in New Zealand cost you money. It's a must go for fans from LOTR or The Hobbit
Beer lovers, skip the SobeRing beer . It's 1% abv and tastes like seltzer water with a bit of stout mixed in for color. Try one of the great local beers from their selections.
If you've read the books (LOTR + Hobbits ), if u're a fan then would highly recommended. U won't worry too much about missing a bit of guided tour cuz u'd wanna take pics! They do kinda rush u...
Fun experience (2hr guided tour with a complimentary beer/cider/ginger beer at the end at Green Dragon . A bit too pricey (NZD 75 per person).
The whole thing, they've kept the movie set brilliantly, and the beer at the green dragon ???? is really good, add a pie to top off the visit
The guides (from the bus to the set tour ) are really good. They animate the whole thing and are witty and keep the visitors entertained.
Great detour for event non-Hobbit fans. Very cool set and awesome tour (free beer for those of age!)
If you're in New Zealand you better visit middle earth. Amazing sites and conditions compared to other movie sets I've seen.
This is a must do for New Zealand travelers. Sure it's a little campy but it's beautiful and entertaining and well kept.
The set and the place is amazing but the tour is too touristic . I rely needed more time but because of other tours behind you you have to hurry up.
Do the evening tour with all the food. It’s amazing to watch the sun set.
A must see for anyone who visits New Zealand, even if you have not seen the films . Great time guaranteed!!!!
Free umbrellas are offered at start of tour if rainy day. Ginger beer was good if you don't want alcoholic drink .
If you’re a fan of Lord Of The Rings, you have to go!
Great tour even though I haven’t seen any of the movies
Very expensive , and rushed through one of the highlights being the Green Dragon Pub where you could easily spend longer. But overall well done. $75 is too steep though!
Must see in New Zealand. The tour is a bit rushed though
Remember to thank your tour guide! Some really great behind-the-scenes info!
Highly emotional experience for a big lord of the rings fan.
Amazing tour . Was able to take pics but needed to sign a waiver. If you like hobbits , this is a must see!
Best LOTR and Hobbit experience
Terrible! My 40-person tour started late and we was chased very closely by the next tour . I could hardly shoot a nice photo at every stop and everyone was queuing up for phototaking.
A must see for all ages. View the set still as it was during filming
Charming. But if you font want to lose the magic from the movie stay far from here
It's a nice tour with a lot of information about the film , but it is expensive . $ 75,00 p.p.
get the sneak peek of the hobbit movie set here before it get to the screen.
Cutest little lambs during the late winter/spring months
Check the forecast when u go and have decent hiking shoes
amazing tour ????????
Not a fan but just wanna see hobbiton ? Probably not the best idea. The Alexander's and Jackson's done an amazing job, but for those who are not fans might find it boring & pricy .
A bit pricey , but ultimately worth it.
Truly magical.
Loved the ginger beer !
If you dug Lord of the Rings. You should see this. Awesome
Would be heaps better if you read the books again before coming
Fulfilling my bucket list
We love it ,back next year
Don't go on the Lord of the Rings farm tour unless your a crazy big fan!
Tours run too fast, be prepared to be quick!
Breathtaking landscape.. ????
Even more impressive than I expected!
Steep climb uphill
It’s a must when you are in Auckland, it was beyond my expectations! I love the Lord of the rings movies and story so I felt very good wondering around Hobbiton! - Calypso
A good variety of items and all are freshly made. They also have gluten free options as well. - Michael Haggerty
The gardens within Hobbiton are amazing themselves. Tons of fresh produce and beautiful flowers. - Josh A
