Nice spot to check out. Surrounded by street artist selling. South side is where you can pick up a horse cab aka carriage ride.
This was a Holiday Inn until recently - taxi drivers won't know it for Wyndham. It's very well located, at the beginning of the French Quarter.

Nice hotel a 5 min walk from Laffite's Blacksmith Shop on Bourbon. It's an older hotel with a big stair case (no elevator) so be ready to climb. The balcony rooms are awesome. - Ed Morgan
