Staff are very friendly . The beer is reasonably priced and we had toad in the hole for dinner - blooody delicious it was! Would definitely recommend
A fairly standard Nicholson 's pub . Apparently, this one had survived two fires in its lifetime, as explained by a plaque near the entrance to the pub .
Nicholson 's Sharing Platter is nice along with the hot mulled cider . Great on a winter's day.
Bottle of wine to share only £10.95. Much cheaper than buying by the glass. Cheers!
Go for the a/c and a pint. Don’t eat the food, it’s microwaved.
The worst cheeseburger I've ever had, and I've had some bad cheeseburgers . It was a hockey puck- I couldn't even finish it. Fries taste like motor oil. Avoid this place like the plague.
The burgers are the best I have ever found in a pub
If you are sitting down and reading this, get up and leave before you have the worst food experience of your life. Food was terrible, service slow, wines are bad. No one cared. Get out now!
Veltins, Stella Black, San Miguel and Peroni on draft . Oooof!
Worst Sunday lunch in England I've ever had. Service was horrifically slow...no cold Pinot Grigio , never checked on us, beef roast was like a frisbee . Stay away!
Amazing :)
Do not eat the food.
Horrible service. We sat forever w/o being greeted. He handed us a spray bottle and rag and made us clean our own table b4 he could serve us.
Food is amazing here, big portions too. I had the Lasagne v. Yummy! - Lola Buchanan
Czech themed bar in historic timber-framed house just behind the Shambles that serves an excellent range of specialty lagers, craft beers & cask. - Dave Milne
Great pub with a welcoming feel and friendly staff. We were there on a Thursday night when it was basically 'open mic' for all local guitarists. Was a great night and we'd definitely recommend. - John Martland
The extra £5 to go up the tower is definitely worth it - beautiful views. The Minster itself is of course wonderful. - James Gooch
The platters are great for a light lunch or just to nibble with a beer - Dan Shannon
