Be aware that the air con upstairs is evil and will chill you to the bone in no time. Great for the 1 week of the year in 30 degree heat but the other 51 weeks feel positively Arctic!

can get messy - tables seldom cleaned at end of the day. love cafe nero coffee but with pret opening opposite & dame tartine (better pastries ) across the square, incentive to come here getting less...

Upstairs is usually quieter - the TW yummy mummies can't get upstairs with their pushchairs. But avoid just after school-chucking-out-time as it can get overrun!

Get the old fashioned loyalty card stamped- 9 coffees and the tenth one is free! You don't have to get them stamped on the same card too, so you can present 9 cards with one stamp!

Have the Hot Chocolate Milano with a Portuguese Custard Tart . No tarts ? They stock fewer of them here, so go to the High Street Nero instead...
