Due to earthquake in April 2016, Kumamoto castle is now closed. Though you can see towers and walls from outside, those broken institutions will hurt your heart.

One of the 3 most famous castles of Japan , the wall rampart and fortification design are really impressive. The beautiful plum grove in early spring is truly lovely.

Make sure to come by during Sakura season . Expansive manicured gardens with an imposing castle backdrop...it is hard to get a more iconic image of Japan .

Plan your route, this place is huge and you don't want to be aimlessly walking about wasting time and energy. Likewise if going to any other nearby places, ask staff for closest exit.

Just reopened. Well worth a visit. Amazing to see the restoration work underway.

【国 特別史跡 】「熊本城跡 」として。ほか、櫓11棟(宇土櫓・源之進櫓・四間櫓・十四間櫓・七間櫓・田子櫓・東十八間櫓・北十八間櫓・五間櫓・平櫓・監物櫓(新堀櫓))、門1棟(不開門)、塀1棟(長塀)で【国重要文化財】の「熊本城 」を構成している。

天守閣へ入ったら、階段を上がる前に足元の敷石をチェック。一箇所だけハート型があるよ。

熊本といえば、お約束です。歴史とともに学びましょう。台風あとだったので敷地内の木 がたくさん折れてましたよ。

오전 일찍 가면 고요하게 즐길 수 있는 곳. (사실 구마모토 자체가 조용한 편이라 하루 숙박한다면 더욱 여유롭게 즐길 수 있다.)

조선의 축성법을 도입하여 일본 내 가장 안전한 성으로 완성했다고 한다. 건물내부를 현대식으로 보수하여 옛모습을 볼 수 없음.

空中回廊が外観を楽しむ歩道としてすばらしい。震災からの完全復旧までは半世紀以上かかるはずなので、ちょくちょく訪れては復旧状況を楽しみたい

2020年10月03日時点で、新たに設立された空中回廊を通り天守閣の近く まで行ける。天守閣の中に入れるのは来年の春とのこと。

三の丸駐車場 より二の丸駐車場 のほうがお城 に近い

修復の技の凄さを含めて本丸御前殿本広間は観ておくべき。

はやく全面復旧してほしいですね。

広い！本丸内の金箔使って復元した奥の間は素晴らしい輝き。

天守閣からの眺めが素晴らしい！

建物内はダメですが、外はペット 同伴可能です。

これが現存していれば素晴らしいかったのだが。
