Amazing castle ! Dramatic cliffs view . A must! Easy access from Edinburgh so no excuses if you don't have a car.
Make sure you don't miss out all the little rooms and get right to the to for the best views out to the Bass Rock. There is a wee shop and two toilets , but bring a picnic because there is no cafe .
Tantallon Castle was the seat of the Douglas Earls of Angus, one of the most powerful baronial families in Scotland. Mary Queen of Scots stayed at Tantallon in 1566.
Really nice and lots to see. The kids had a great time.
Children's Quiz was a great idea. We read every sign board to answer the questions and stickers for the quiz kids! :0)
There are more rooms than it may first seem. Go to the top!

One of my favourites spots in East Lothian. Only 40 minutes by train from Edinburgh. Seabird centre by the harbour has a lovely deck to have a coffee in a warm day watching the sea. - Maria Holt
Small but interesting. Outstanding gardens with an amazing variety of flowers. Very recommended. - Lina Farrow
Stunning views and very warm. Lots of cakes and scones, nice soup. No sandwiches or other food options. - Alasdair Gray
