A very small pub that has been awarded for its historic interior. A good range of regular and guest ales on. They also sell a wide variety of unusual breads to take away !
Definitely bijou but a great beer selection and a warm welcome
Beautiful cosy interior. Great real ale .
Really cosy with friendly staff . Great range of booze!
The best pub in all of York. Cosy pub , friendly staff and customers and excellent beer
Without a doubt the best pub in York . Like stepping back into the past.
A delightful pub but bear in mind that there isn't room to swing a cat and it will be full at peak times.
The beer and the atmosphere
Traditional back street pub . Recommended.
Fab little place, ale in great condition
Try the pork pies the best
They do not sell sandwiches any more only pork pies .
Best pub in York meets the modern age with free wifi : ask for p'word @ the bar
Free cheese and crackers !
Very discourteous management. I will never go there again!
Probably shouldn't say this, but ignore the 'Private Party' notice... just to keep the riff-raff out!
On CAMRA's. National Inventory of historic pub interiors
Nice old style pub
Beautiful interior. Quiet pub where conversation is king. Great real ale. - Carl Griffin
Hidden away down a narrow street just off Micklegate. Tends to be quiet outside peak times & seasons. A good range of pumps including real ales from small breweries. A recent local CAMRA award winner. - Dave Milne
