Legendary Vancouver sushi spot. Inventor of the California roll . Really fresh and creative dishes. Not cheap , but excellent, with a great, calm , classic ambiance.

S P

Some of the freshest and best sushis/sashimis lovingly prepared by Chef Tojo (an institution!). Splurge on omakase .

Kian Lam Kho

Sit the the bar and have Chef Tojo create an omakase dinner for you. Best way to experience this incredible chef .

Mike Sugimoto

#notetoself: go next time you're in van. tojo's the chef who created the california roll & is partly responsible for popularizing sushi in the west.

Kristina Simmons

Four words: best in the world sushi . Try the 6-course menu and get ready to swoon. Be sure to order the California roll (the chef invented it!) and drink the house sake !

Paul Belserene

Put yourself in the chef 's hands. This is not your ordinary sushi spot . Cooked dishes are awesome and the best isn't on the menu. You get what you pay for ( a lot)

Omakase (pronounce it “oh-mah-kah-seh”) at Tojo’s is an iconic Vancouver culinary experience. Order with hot, then cold sake !

Bryan Clark

Expensive sushi but worth it. Go for broke ($60+) and get the Omakase , the chef will make whatever and you'll really enjoy it.

Natalie Fioratos

Omakase is the way to go. A little pricey but amazing food!

@JaumePrimero

Bow to the master sushi chef of Vancouver. Be prepared to throw down some serious cash.

Ashley Edery

Overrated and overpriced omakase . Enjoyed talking with one of the other sushi chefs at the sushi bar (Tojo didn't talk much, but he did check in a few times.) Food was good but should've been 1/2 $

Niki Kiu

Tojo Roll, Shitake Shinjo, Wagyu , Uni, Amaebi....Lobster Sashimi with Lobster Bisque .. Yummmmmm

Summer LePree

The local tuna sashimi and tataki are the best I've ever had! And ask for the magnum PI roll (not on menu).

Kevin Chiu

The uni nigiri is ridiculously good!! On a whole other level!!

Brandon Perlman

Get the Omakase . Sit at the bar . House sake is the best.

David crompton

If you've got the time and the means Tojo will deliver the goods.

One of the ladies from Vancouver housewives was asked which restaurant was the most expensive in Vancouver. She named Tojo's

The tuna sashimi was the best I ever had, but the salmon was absolutely horrible and chewy... How could that be?

Caty Tedman

Weird vibe, but incredible food. Don't second guess yourself, go for the Omakase .

Get the Shiitake Mushroom . It's bliss!

Min

More than willing to shell out for outstanding, but disappointingly Tojo's was merely decent - at a high price. Clientele: execs trying to impress rather than folks that truly love food.

Elisabeth White

The food is delicious but overpriced. The service is polite but very slow.

Stephanie S.

Good but not the best....alot of better sushi restaurants out there!!

Juraj Lišiak

best japanese in vancouver...just be willing to drop a couple bills...

Probably the biggest rip off and most overhyped place I've ever eaten. If you like average sushi at 3 to s times what its worth come here otherwise don't bother

Gary Wiese

Do it.

Me gustó el Dinamita, el roll Great pacific y el Northern, lo demás normal. Al atún rojo no le vi el color por ningún lado!

Such a good omakase deal! The uni and tuna toro are amazing. Also loved the kanpachi, scallops, and anago, but honestly can’t go wrong. Small intimate spot. You can order add ons after the omakase. - Connie Chiu
