Legendary Vancouver sushi spot. Inventor of the California roll . Really fresh and creative dishes. Not cheap , but excellent, with a great, calm , classic ambiance.
Some of the freshest and best sushis/sashimis lovingly prepared by Chef Tojo (an institution!). Splurge on omakase .
Sit the the bar and have Chef Tojo create an omakase dinner for you. Best way to experience this incredible chef .
We always have an excellent meal and Experience when we done here. I would highly recommend paying a visit if you're looking for great sushi .
#notetoself: go next time you're in van. tojo's the chef who created the california roll & is partly responsible for popularizing sushi in the west.
Four words: best in the world sushi . Try the 6-course menu and get ready to swoon. Be sure to order the California roll (the chef invented it!) and drink the house sake !
Put yourself in the chef 's hands. This is not your ordinary sushi spot . Cooked dishes are awesome and the best isn't on the menu. You get what you pay for ( a lot)
Omakase (pronounce it “oh-mah-kah-seh”) at Tojo’s is an iconic Vancouver culinary experience. Order with hot, then cold sake !
Expensive sushi but worth it. Go for broke ($60+) and get the Omakase , the chef will make whatever and you'll really enjoy it.
Awesome high scale and modern Japanese restaurant

Vancouver’s most famous Japanese restaurant . Tojo invented the California roll .
Tojo's Tuna , Great BC Roll & Assorted Sushi - the perfect trifecta!
Omakase is the way to go. A little pricey but amazing food!
Bow to the master sushi chef of Vancouver. Be prepared to throw down some serious cash.
Overrated and overpriced omakase . Enjoyed talking with one of the other sushi chefs at the sushi bar (Tojo didn't talk much, but he did check in a few times.) Food was good but should've been 1/2 $
Tojo Roll, Shitake Shinjo, Wagyu , Uni, Amaebi....Lobster Sashimi with Lobster Bisque .. Yummmmmm
The local tuna sashimi and tataki are the best I've ever had! And ask for the magnum PI roll (not on menu).
The uni nigiri is ridiculously good!! On a whole other level!!
Get the Omakase . Sit at the bar . House sake is the best.
If you've got the time and the means Tojo will deliver the goods.
If you order $500 worth of food at tojos you get free pepsi refills... Best food in Vancouver!
One of the ladies from Vancouver housewives was asked which restaurant was the most expensive in Vancouver. She named Tojo's
The tuna sashimi was the best I ever had, but the salmon was absolutely horrible and chewy... How could that be?
Weird vibe, but incredible food. Don't second guess yourself, go for the Omakase .
Cocktail hour 4-6p Thu-Sat
Tojo is the creator of the California Roll ...holy shit!!
The omakase was good but pricey

This is really good Japanese food .
Get the Shiitake Mushroom . It's bliss!
More than willing to shell out for outstanding, but disappointingly Tojo's was merely decent - at a high price. Clientele: execs trying to impress rather than folks that truly love food.
The food is delicious but overpriced. The service is polite but very slow.
Good but not the best....alot of better sushi restaurants out there!!
best japanese in vancouver...just be willing to drop a couple bills...
Order the chopped scallop roll and dragon roll . For drinks, order the Tojo-tini. Read more
Try omakase made by famous chef Mr. Tojo.
Probably the biggest rip off and most overhyped place I've ever eaten. If you like average sushi at 3 to s times what its worth come here otherwise don't bother
Do it.
Me gustó el Dinamita, el roll Great pacific y el Northern, lo demás normal. Al atún rojo no le vi el color por ningún lado!
Acércate a comer en la barra. Observa como preparan los alimentos y éntrale al sake .
Try Omakase..????????⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Assorted nigiri????????????????????????
One of the best in the city. Friendly staff & delicious food. Try the box sushi, tuna tataki, grilled eggplant, oyster motoyaki. Opens at 5-940. Expect to wait for a table as the place is ALWAYS busy - Lloyd
Such a good omakase deal! The uni and tuna toro are amazing. Also loved the kanpachi, scallops, and anago, but honestly can’t go wrong. Small intimate spot. You can order add ons after the omakase. - Connie Chiu
The Chirashi and Deluxe Chirashi are awesome! Great value! Fresh Sashimi! - Hubert Yu
Awesome boutique hotel - great value and location. Right off SkyTrain stop so super easy to and from the airport - Sam H
