This is a great museum . I suggest spending a good 2 hours here as they’re is a lot to see. A wide range of exhibitions including retro toys of different eras, sixties exhibition and a Victorian Street
An excellent museum for those of you who like history and want to travel in time from the Victorian era through to modern day York!
My favourite museum in York , Kirkgate is worth the admission on its own! £10 per adult (also admits 2 kids free) joint ticket for here and Yorkshire museum , gift aid it and your ticket lasts a year!
This is a great place to visit with so much to see and do. The exhibitions are great and very interesting. The street was great. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Great museum - can easily spend a couple of hours here with a lot to learn. A modest entry fee as well , would recommend to anyone!
Was worth the entrance fee (children go free with a paying adult), some interesting sections on toys , food, and a full mock up of a Victorian street , complete with shops and schools.
I love the interaction area and the mid 1800s town . Well worth a stop! And this comes from a foreigner:)
Kirkgate is a wonderfully atmospheric recreation of a Victorian street . The sweet shop there sells authentic nineteenth century treats!
Good place to visit .. u need 3HRs to finish it
Simply an excellent Museum and good value . Victorian street and WW1 exhibition complete with trench leave a lasting impression
I like this castle and there are a lot of activity, overall YORK. Is Nice place to visit ????????
Really interesting museum about the history of York.
The Victorian Street was amazing. The other parts were good as well .
Must visit it , my friends who don't like museums in general they liked this one
This museum is so enjoyably intense- it is well worth the steep price of admission
The museum is housed in prison buildings which were built on the site of the castle from the 18th century.
Cafe is surprisingly reasonably priced and has a good view of Clifford's Tower
Nice place to visit and know more about York
Very enjoyable - the Victorian street was particularly striking :)
A great little museum with historic rooms and a street. Better than a load of old stuff in cabinets!
Best museum in Yorkshire (outside of Hull!)
Free for York residents with a York Card, available from the Library if you don't have one
£8 for an adult both kids were free so it worked out a very reasonable few hours
Don't go during school holidays. Too many screaming children make you want to rush around the whole museum just to get out as fast as you can.
What a fantastic museum in YORK !!!
Well worth it!
Can easy spend 4-5 hours here Something for everyone
Try and go when there are not going to be a lot of kids running around. Can be very annoying.
£8 to get in and nothing special - certainly not worth the money. Typically overpriced attraction in York
Don't eat here it's expensive and quite poor quality. Museum is good though
Vale muito a visita. Tem 2 prédios no museu . Gostei de ambos os lados
la representación de la ciudad antiguamente vale la pena.. sobre todo en la época victoriana
Great view of Clifford tower whilst having an expresso. - chris tree
Tour is fun. After the tour, please try the hot chocolate in the restaurant downstairs. Yummy! - Lim Chee Wei
Go on a Monday at 11 or 2 and catch the historic tour. Our guide Colin was brilliant! Best tour of stately house in the U.K - LisasShare
Brilliant views of York and plenty of information to go with it. A national trust site with entry fee that being honest, isn't quite worth what you get! - Martin Mitchell
Beautiful and large carhedral. Lots of people made a long queue in cold winter night to watch Christmas Carol there! - Vivi Wiguna
Haddock, prawn and salmon gratin is out of this world. Enjoy with all the chutneys and finish with a browns bread ice cream sundae - Liam
