Electronic passport control is the best choice - even when not working you skip the usual long waiting time for a normal pass control and go in front of everyone :)

You might get stuck between the two doors of the electronic passport control booth . But do not worry, they will let you out and you will still be able to bypass the queue. :)

Use the automatic passport control, specially when there is a long queue at the normal control.
