If you love animals, you can spend hours here. Get here very early to see the pandas at their most active and with less crowds. We got there just after 8am and that was perfect.

Get there early (8am) when there isn't a crowd and the animals are extra alert. Most are sleepy by 10am-noon. See the red pandas first if you can, since it's harder to see them the rest of the day.

HUG A PANDA HERE. Head to the Sunshine Nursery and reserve a spot (sign ups close at around 930; tour is at 10). Donation is 2000 RMB and goes towards panda research! Best experience of your life.

If planning well , the bus trip from town costs you only 4 Yuan. Even if you don't come early, you are going to find some active pandas somewhere. Don't follow the mainstream routes for quiet watching!

Make sure to arrive early in the morning. It gets really crowd. Go to the moonshine breeding building instead of the sunshine one. They are the same but the sunshine building has a really long queue.

Very nice place, cool to see the pandas in their natural habitat and behaviour and it seems like theyre taken care of very well . Hope they get to release some in the wild some day.

Lovely Research Base! I was impressed with its cleanliness and organization (pretty rare in China). Make sure to arrive early to avoid the crowds.

Not the best place to see pandas . You hardly get a glimpse of pandas . It’s for walking , get some fresh air and see some nice plants. Visit Dujiangyan Panda Garden or Wolong if you want to see pandas .

It is better to visit this place in the winter. Because in the summer it's simple too hot for the pandas to stay out all day.

This place is huge. We arrived in the early afternoon and some pandas were still napping after lunch . The red pandas were very active though. Arrive earlier in the morning to avoid disappointment.

Be there in the morning and stay for the day. It's huge place and it takes time. If you want to take a picture with panda book it in advance when you get there, it's limited. Price was 1000元.

Pay & take the tram to the top! It's a lot easier to walk back down. This place is huge! If you walk all the way to the top, you may be too tired to enjoy the whole park .

9am is feeding time!! But it's packed with tour groups so get there a few minutes beforehand to get a good spot.

On summer better get here in the early morning on 08-12AM, where Pandas are eating & playing, sleep when weather so hot. Bring cash enough for Hug Pandas $2000RMB, cause they don't receive CreditCard

Very nice place! Pandas are very well kept! Come early in the morning to see them playing and walking around! Later gets full of people and jot so fun!

Good place to see giant pandas and red pandas . There are also very cute baby pandas . Should visit before 10 am before the crowd comes in.

Great to see how the panda are being treated here.. Recently it has been declared that it's no longer as an endangered species, thanks to Chengdu Research Base.. Great job..!!!

????Get there early(~8am,before panda feeding), preferably on weekdays. Avoid fake taxis on your way back(they look very similar to official ones,except number plates+unusually active drivers)????

They are just so cute . Also you get to learn how much time/energy/effort/money we put to encourage them to reproduce, it's almost comical .

Pandas !!! So many to see, plenty of gift shops and if you have a spare ¥2,000 you can pet one!

!!!public transport tip:need to transfer at least once. from downtown,many buses lead to Chengdu Zoo bus terminal,like No.64,99,18,166…and here you take bus no.198 or 198a,go off at panda base stop.

excellent place. we took a taxi up there from chengdu, cost about 60rmb. to get back into the city , rather than take one of the black cabs, i took the bus to chengdu zoo , then a taxi . very cheap .

Pandas eat a lot of bamboo and can poop as much as 28 kilos a day.

Moonlight nursery is a long walk away from everything but that's where the very young pandas and mummys live!

In order to go back to Chengdu just a few meters from the entrance there are shuttle buses that take u to Jinli Street for CNY 15 . You can buy the tickets just across the tourist center information.

Go to he moon nursery which is located at the northwest part of the place. Baby pandas are super adorable and cute .

Come here earlier so that it won't be too crowded . Recommended to buy shuttle bus tickets because the panda site is too far away. And better come here during winter :)

Great place. Therefore, you shouldn't go in spring festival or other Chinese special holidays. Park can be more crowded .

Be on the lookout for them around their playgrounds , it's easy to miss them if they're playing very near the fence
