Mesa Verde National Park is a national park Cortez located in United States.
Highway 160 Cortez , CO 81330 United States
The park is home to more than 4,000 archeological sites , 600 of which are cliff dwellings . For a guided tour inside the amazing Cliff Palace , nab a spot at the Far View Visitor Center.
Amazing historical place! Well worth a visit. Is you can, do a tour to one of the three bigger houses. It's just a few bucks and really nice!
One of the best historical sites I've ever seen. You can see it with just the park 's day pass but if you want to get closer you can do a guided tour .
Great park - be sure to do two days to see it all and not get worn out. Book your tours 14 days out the minute they go on sale as visiting a site makes all the difference.
It was fun going there but I wish they had more hands on things to do and I wish the museum was open plus the trails you basically have to drive to you can’t walk on any.
If you’re here in summer go to the dwellings and get your hiking done in the morning. Afternoon summer storms are nothing to mess with around here.
If you're not afraid of heights, be sure to take the guided tour of Cliff Palace . It's spectacular, and the park rangers are very knowledgeable and entertaining.
Everything about this place is awesome, however the vault restrooms were locked at 6:30 on a beautiful evening in May!
Great mountain views and cool historic information. Very cool if you're into Native American stuff.
Make sure to stop at Park Point and take a photo. It's beautiful to see at sunset !
The 9am Cliff Palace tour is a great time to go. And definitely check out Long Hpuse and the Wetherill Mesa!!
Surprised this place is not more famous. Loved it and learned a lot too.
When visiting Cliff Palace/Balcony House, park on the OPPOSITE end of the parking lot from where the tour begins... Flatlanders will be grateful....
Amazing place. Spectacular, fascinating and intriguing. Seeing the houses and settlements set into the cliffs is one of the memories I will keep for a long time.
Take a tour of the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park, and check out this vintage 1970s photo from our Documerica collection of Cliff Palace . Read more
It is an incredible cultural site - you can see it on your own with a simple national parks day pass but can make even more of your trip with a guided tour . Read more
On Petroglyph trail you need to walk a long way to finally see the petroglyphs! But it's worth it...
Make sure to go down to the Spruce Tree House if you aren't taking a guided tour . Absolutely amazing.
Sun Point View gives an amazing overlook of Cliff Palace
One of the coolest national parks I’ve ever been to
Eat at Far View Lodge restaurant ... Amazing views and food!
One of the most austere places in the USA and the least known.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Fantastic national park .
That U.S. National Park in Montezuma County , Colorado, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Very poor senior management. Over half the park is closed. Sucks when u pay $80 to tour one of the cliff houses and no attempt made by park to honor cliff house tour & just blame on road contractor.
This place is known as "Gad Deelzhah" in Navajo, which means "Junipers in a Jagged Arrangement."
Love Love Love!
Native American ruins, and canyon views .
Definitely go to the Balcony House! It's terrifying, but a blast!
The ruins and the history
Get tickets early.
One of my favorite national Parks .
This area is known as Gad Deelzhah in Navajo, meaning "Jagged Juniper."
Mesa Verde visitor center
Mesa Verde National Park was the first national park set aside to protect and promote the work of mankind.
Amazing history loves it!!!
If your afraid of heights, do not go! But the site is full of history and you get to get up close and view how people used to live. If you have kids, be careful, plenty of places to slip and fall.
We got our National Park pass here, fantastic place
Good stop to book ranger tours of the big houses- most require tours. - Island Bruin
Amazing views from the top of the four corners region where you can see a hundred miles in all directions. Be sure to check the weather. - eric bornemann
The much less crowded part of the park. Make sure you get a tour for Long House. Best part of the park. - eric bornemann
Plenty of variety for breakfast. Everything is individually priced- it adds up quickly. - Island Bruin
