Very much enjoyed our stay. Try to get one of the 3 Timber Lodges , as those are backed up by water. If you go for the rustic cabins , 12, 15, 7 or 8 look like the nicest 2 bedroom cabins .
CMSP is a peaceful park with a lot of history from the New Deal era. The boat dock has new equipment and a new walking bridge that connects to the head of the Byrd Lake trail . Very dog friendly .
Park rangers need volunteers from ages 12 and up to help complete the construction of the park 's birds of prey aviary by May 2015. Read about the birds who will be residents of the new aviary. Read more
Very relaxing and peaceful . Beautiful body of water. Worth walking down the Cumberland plateau trail to see more water and rocks behind the bridge .
Loop 5 is our favorite. Site 123 & 134 are wonderful. Love this place. Everyone here is friendly and quick to help. Even our campground host. Super sweet. Well worth the $$$ .
Great park for a relaxing afternoon. Restaurant available for lunch (expensive ) or bring your own picnic and save. Hiking trail and swimming pool among other amenities .
Beautiful day to enjoy the fall colors.
