Stunning beach and ocean views . Pesky raccoons . Monkeys galore. A guide isn't necessarily worth it, but you will definitely see more than you would on your own.
Get there early, ignore the guides - it's perfectly do-able without one. Take the sweaty uphill walk to the Mirador, and then go down to Playa Espadilla, and if you're lucky, enjoy peace and quiet .
Lots of animals to see if you get the guided tour . Book an official one from your hotel , shuttle included. Jason Solano is the best guide. Bring clothes to get into the ocean, the beach is just perfec
The new guided trail opened approximately 18mos ago and provides great opportunities to see lots of wildlife . On our recent tour we saw sloths , land crabs , monkeys , hummingbirds , toucans and insects.
It’s very touristy but absolutely worth the visit! The trails are amazing and you get to experience both jungle and the ocean. Also busy wildlife and you don’t need a guide to see the animals.
We went straight to the beach because we had done a tour in Monteverde a day earlier. The monkeys and racoons were good fun to watch. The views are stunning and the atmosphere is relaxed.
No need to pay or go into the national park . There's a free beach prior to the entrance. Bring cash!
Beautiful Parc. Try to go as early as possible. And go directly to the the mirrador trail . Nobody at the beaches and many animals to see.
Amazing wildlife . I saw various species of monkeys , four sloths , deer, iguanas, and so many other wildlife so close by. The two beaches are very beautiful!
A pretty good national park that gets very busy with tour groups. Get there early, bargain for parking near the entrance, see a sloth .
Lovely park with spider monkeys , yellow faced monkeys , squirrel monkeys , really loud howler monkeys , shoplifter monkeys , sloths etc. Great hikes and stunning beaches .
Awesome park . Almost guaranteed to see monkeys and other wildlife including sloths , agoutis, iguanas, raccoons . There are beaches too. FYI no food inside for sale. Park close!
Totally worth a visit. Bring your swimsuit and towel to spend some time at the nice beaches . Also, no hiking boots required
Gorgeous hikes that are tough but have amazing payout. Also, there are monkeys !
You can see a lot with a guide but the park is so busy that you can still see plenty regardless. Look for sloths , 4 kinds of monkeys and plenty of birds and insects!
Lovely place with lots of animals. If you want the most out of it, spend some money on a guide, they’ll show you things you can’t find by yourself.
Do all the trails and enjoy the beautiful isolated beaches ! Make sure to lock your back to a tree branch on the shore to avoid monkeys or raccoons looting your belongings!
Totally worth a visit. Bring your swimsuit and towel to spend some time at the nice beaches . Also, no hiking boots required ????
You can roam this beautiful park for hours. Bring a camera & look up; monkey/sloth sightings r guaranteed. Its filled with gorgeous beaches so bring a suit! Tour guides can be helpful, try to find Roy
If you book a guided tour through Manuel Antonio Tours you should ask for Elias Mora as a guide. Vey knowledgeable and calm . He can avoid groups for better views . We spent almost 1/2 hr. w/ capuchins.
Arrive early and go with a guide to see the most wildlife . Park is very busy but still worth it.
Very busy park , but excellent place to see so many wildlife especially sloths .
Monkeys are easy to spot near the beaches . Mind your bags though.
It is true that raccoons steal your food. So be very careful what and how you pack when you go to the beach .
Too touristic ! Very busy place. Beach is great for swimming . Watch well your stuff as monkeys are watching you :)
Ignore the comment by Car Rental Costa Rica. Absolutely no need for a 4x4. From SJ, take the route 27 west towards Punta Arenas and then head south from Orotina. Follow the signs from Quepos C. Enjoy.
As you approach plenty of 'official' people will direct you towards a car park . These people don't work for the park and are touts for private parking .
Nice beaches . Good trails . Worth a visit. Not that many people during low season. Avoid parking rip off even if someone says you cannot go until park entrance.
Amazing, lots to see here; sloths , monkies, nightjars, and beautiful beaches to swim at
The beach , the views , the trails are great, and the ocean is beautiful
Few paths full of wild life . And some awesome beaches better in early morning, to avoid crowds.
Would have been a nice park if it wasn't for the parking ransom you have to pay.Don't get why police is allowing it in the most visited park of Costa Rica.Mafia/begging is not legal in most countries .
Too many tourists , but a gorgeous beach . Be careful with the monkeys , they steal food (and everything they can)!
Good for surfing and for you to get the chance to see some sloths
It is a must. If you can, go with a tour guide . They spot animals you'd never see unless you were an expert and they have special "telescopes" that allow you to see the animals better.
Get the tour guide , look for one with a new-ish Swarovski scope. Take pics with your small camera thru the scope :-)
Beach . Rainforest. Animals. Great little beach town and bars . Ziplining . A little bit of everything in one spot.
Go with a guide. They have a trained eye. I wouldn't have spotted any of the animals if I had gone solo.
Go early as the mad rush of tourists have the wildlife running for the hills if you go to late on the day. Also, park is closed on Monday's.
Ignore the people on the way to the park trying to let you stop and park way before the entrance. Just follow the signs, park near entrance
The "guides" that are outside the park are a total thieves, be careful. They have a bad attitude and their prices are excessive for their service and the equipment.
You’ll need to pass through hustlers like a gauntlet to get to the parking lot . Do not pay $20! official parking is $10 at the park entrance. Overcrowded park . Not worth even a self-guided tour .
really nice place:-) hate the ticket selling for the park NOT well organized .
Since August 1st, the price to enter the national park will cost $16 per adult, kids under 12 years old don't pay.
Ignore the fake parking dudes with whistles. Drive right up to the gate and it costs $6.
Over run by tourists so be sure to get there at the butt crack of dawn when they open. 7am.
A bit too touristic for my likings. But, monkeys were great ????
Too crowded during the Xmas season. 16$ entry fee. If you saw other parks , you don’t need a tour guide .
Amazing spot! So much wildlife everywher! #MustSee
Definitely get a tour guide at the park .. Well worth the $20!
Great park, beautiful beaches, local animals... a must go! Don’t take food to the park bc you can’t enter with them. Only fruit and sandwiches are allowed. - Marina Bueno
Hay que caminar un rato, pero vale la pena. :) - Simón Roberto Sánchez Segura
Hermoso y muy limpio - Yira Guerrero
Very nice beach and a little bit less crowded than most other beaches close by. - Peter Erni
Crazy restaurant ... great burger and fajitas del lomito ... also, try the strawberry cheesecake and their espresso ???????????????? - Peter Erni
We had lunch and dinner 3 days in a row because food was EXCELLENT and service was fantastic! Ask for Steven; he is a great guy for great service! - Keos Boo
