Every Sunday, from 7 pm to 7.30 pm, Mysore Palace turns into an illuminated icon of the city . It is really an exhilarating experience to watch the illuminated palace .
Beautiful building but you're constantly herded through like cattle (actually, I bet you'd be treated better if you were cattle). Floors are clean and lots of fun people to chat with at least.
Leave your camera at the free camera deposit counter. If they later find it in your bag at the entrance (they xray scan it), you have to walk all the way back to deposit.
The iconic Palace in India. Must visit if you're in Mysore and also during the Dasara Festival . Take a official tour guide here. They'll charge Rs. 250 for a group.
Architecture and design is a mix of Hindu , European, and Persian. This combo can only be found at the Mysore Palace which makes it unique
One of the BEST places in the world. Mysore is know for Dasara celebration and the Palace . A must visit place!
Only gets me thinking how rich India;s culture is :) And there's a light show, from 7pm-8pm everyday. Couldn't get more beautiful!
Palace is iconic but a bit run downed (a little disappointing). When crowded they do herded you through it making it annoying to learn and absorb it. Interior architecture is interesting.
Definitely get the English audioguide if you're an English speaker. It's free with a foreigner ticket , and remarkably informative and fun!
History cannot get bigger than this . The Opulence and sheer extravagance is breathtaking .. Among the top 10 most popular historical places in south India.

The entry ticket provides access to the palace and the adjacent temple . No camera , use the deposit box at the entrance.
Do not visit on a weekend or in December! Just chaos and they force everyone to walk through the entire palace . Complete letdown and disorganised.
If coming by private vehicle keep your camera inside car. Don't keep shoes in car, there is place to keep your shoes .
Get there early, no shoes in the palace or museum , you can only take pictures outside.
Make sure to rent out the Audio guides (like a sony walkman) instead of the costlier guides if you're 1-2 persons
