Tanneries is a historic and protected site Fès Fès located in Morocco.
Open air tannery 30013 Fès Morocco
A must see in Fes. Be ready for the bad smell but definitely worth it. You need to see it from the stores (which will try hard to sell you stuff) or you can pay (in our case 30DH) to access a terrace
The tannery guide will hard-sell u stuff n make it difficult for u to leave. By saying no for a million times, the guide ‘escorted’ us to our car n offered nearly half-price discount at the last min.
An experience I want to forget. Wouldn't have been able to breathe unless I had been given some fresh mint . There are places where you can go and see the tanneries for free but be ready to pay anyway)
Look for shop “No 10” and ignore the touts. Take the mint leaves & carry them in your hand afterwards. Nobody will approach you anymore. Rem to tip at No 10 if you didn’t buy anything.
The Chouara tanneries are quite an impressive sight. The smell won‘t be quite as impressive but if you see the whole spectacle it‘s astonishing what people are creating there.
The guy selling at the store that overlooks the tanneries was nice and helpful as he explained the whole leather-making process . His merchandise is overpriced,so just tip him and shop somewhere else.
Like a giants paint pallet. Amazing colours . Wonderful to see the different tanning processes . A little smelly though.
Big ans large Tannery with a multiple colours And amazing hankraft #karimdehbi
Do you know the process of turning animal hides into soft colorful slippers, handbags or jackets ? Come to the famous tanneries and don't forget to bring your camera . Especially in the morning the diff
The smell is unbearable! And it's a pity how many animales are being skinned off alive for us to have leather things that we do not need at all!
Enter the one with a N10 in a board sign. Not the one with a 10 writen in blue above the door.
Interesting place to visit and buy bags made with camels leather and so on.
Nice to know the process but I think the workers have very bad job conditions
Hold mint to your nose to handle the smell.
Smells were not as bad as everybody writes. But might depend on the weather. We came late in the morning and colours were already gone.
the smell was too much for 2 of our party although we were given a sprig of mint ! it didn't bother the other ! interesting and the shopping there is very good leather goods at bargain prices
Tradicni zpusob opracovavani kuzi ve Fesu
This place smells like straight doo doo. It was like someone opened their buttcheeks and shat on my face
A must visit when in Fez.
i couldnt find it! fes is a labyrinth
Order never received!!!!!!!!!!!!
