It's was cool but make sure u go down further to the national wildlife refuge. Much cooler! Also saw a bald eagle just outside there!!
Easy walk on compacted wet sand at low tide and enough time to walk entire 5.5 miles or just picnic and play all day on the beach
Very beautiful here. There were many spots for my mother's walker and she was able to enjoy herself.
Easy 1/2 mile walk to upper viewpoint. Another 4+ miles out to the lighthouse at the end of the spit.
Go about 2 hours before low tide to have an ready walk on compacted sand. Lighthouse tours available by the weekly volunteer crew
You might see eagles on the spit. It's a very long walk to the end!
Dogs aren't allowed on the Spit or the trail to it, but check out the bluffs, not to be missed!
Lots of great trails here to bike or hike on. Great views and clean crisp air all around.
Only $3 for up to 4 adults gets you a day use pass for the spit, etc

Lots of fun! Some of the bison and yaks were quite aggressive, but all animals we saw looked well cared for. The bread is fresh and inexpensive. Friendly staff too. - Ulysses .
