Wear comfortable shoes - LOTS of walking. It's one of the largest zoos in the U.S. in terms of area. Animals - human and otherwise - have lots of space to roam and play.
A must-visit Zoo that offers kids and adults an equally entertaining and educational experience. Wild life (not cages) displays of animals makes this place memorable -- Expensive food and beverages
Feed the giraffes at the Acacia Station Feeding Deck. They're not dogs, they don't like to be pet , but they love their lettuce! Totally worth the extra few bucks!
Great animal viewing quality / quantity. 1 star for park design / services / planning. Narrow pathways, not enough concessions / bathrooms / tram cars / tram stops / viewing platforms / parking .
I really enjoyed the zoo . Such a large selection of animals/plants to view . I was disappointed that there were many closed exhibits , or exhibits where the animals were hard to see.
Start in north America and work your way to Africa. It's all down hill . If you start the opposite way you will have to do a lot of hills . Plus it is fun to start with native wildlife .
Great zoo within an hour's drive of the triad. Family memberships save you $ if you go twice in a year.
Excellent time walking through. Went on a chilly day and it was pleasant. The price is great for the size of the zoo .
Great outdoor activity ! Be sure to reserve your tickets in advance for both members and non members!
HUGE zoo with lots of wonderful animals. Take the time to learn about how your zoo visit helps animals in the wild!
The zoo was awesome! Perfect day! Temp was just right and crowds were not bad. Take plenty of $$$ or eat before you go as food is pricy !
The kids play spaces are excellent to keep the young kids engaged with breaks from all the walking.
Enter at Africa , take tram to North America and then walk back to Africa and see all that you can. That direction is mostly downhill and you'll finish the day just a short walk from your car.
Winter time is a good time to visit, no crowds. Drinks are expensive so bring your own.
I love the polar bears , sand fox, and the giraffes ! Make sure you feed the giraffes for $2!!
Allow ~4 hours if you want to see it all, but wear comfy shoes and take the tram back to your parking lot . Plastic water bottles are allowed too :-)
The North Carolina Zoo is amazing wow I love the service here the animals are so adorable
Are you a AAA member? Don't forget to ask for your ticket discount
Get to the gorillas early. The viewing areas do not handle crowds very well . Try the pizza at Junction Plaza .
Get there early in the morning before the heat and crowds.
Do NOT throw away your souvenir cups . Bring them back for deep discounted soda refills.
Bring your walking shoes because this is the nation's largest walk-through natural habitat zoo . Must-sees: the giraffe viewing station and Lemur Island .
Ledge territory to cover, make sure you have some cup. Lots of fountains to refill.
Great place to spend a day with kids and keep them entertained!
Head on over to Lemur Island , home to both ring-tailed and red-ruffed species. Read more
Learning about the circle of life with my Sweets on my Birthday!
Showing up early before the crowds show up
You can rent an electric scooter to get around for only $25.money well spent.

Make sure to wear comfy shoes !
May is a great time to go. 80 degrees and beautiful weather. A lot of the animals were out
Don't wear cheap ass flip flops to this zoo...you're in for a 12 mile hike uphill both ways
Good hiking and beautiful animals
Start early to beat the crowds but very near exhibits
My first time..good a lot of ground to cover be prepared
The polar bear was awesome!
Great animal exhibits
AT&T coverage was non-existent to spotty, so consider another means of communication if your group decides to split up.

Make sure you don't think "oh, I can miss the tram . " It's a long time before another one comes.
