At the back, just below saint peter statue you can see original Roman foundations with blood stains from animal sacrifices done by the Romans.

Minerva was added in the 9th century. The bell tower is from the 13th century.

Tempio Romano del I sec.a.c.. Nel 1539 vi venne edificata la Chiesa Santa Maria sopra Minerva (wikip).

Templo milenar que mostra a pujança do Império Romano. Hoje, com a Graça de Deus, uma Igreja Católica.
