The Modern Cafe has been a landmark in the downtown of Nanaimo since 1946. Originally a Chinese Restaurant, the former owner transformed it into what Nanaimo knows it as of today, a truly Modern Cafe with an international style menu and fantastic brick wall interior.

Great atmosphere, wonderful menu. The salmon was delicious and the new potatoes were delectable.

I recommend the 8oz. Angus Burger ... It was really good. Juicy, but not too juicy. Just the way I like it.
Try the traditional whiskey sour . Refreshing! Great for sipping outside on a hot day.
