Really awesome UNESCO world heritage site, so you know it’s great. Really crowded though, 50-100k per day depending on the season. A little less crowded early in the day.
Pay a couple hundred extra for a tour guide in your own language, it’s well worth it. They know all the secret entrances and shortcuts between buildings, plus you’ll learn a lot more.
You don't need a expensive travel agency . Do the tour for your own. Take the bus nr 306 from the railway station . The ride takes approx. 1h and costs 8 Yuan.
One of the farmers that accidentally stumbled upon the terracotta warriors in the ‘70s is still alive and if your lucky, you can pay him some small money to autograph a book you buy in the gift shop .
An amazing exhibit . Be prepared for heavy crowds. We went around 8:30am and it went from busy to packed in a few hours. Definitely worth the visit!
Almost all of the artifacts are truly amazing and the fact that the haven’t dug the actual tomb makes you wonder what other unimaginable items are still in there.
A small museum but the displays are well done and well lit. You can see the intricate detail of the terra-cotta soldiers and various artifacts . Worth it even with the loud tour groups.
You have to go really early in order to avoid the queues. It opens at 8:30 in the morning. As you walk out there are a lot of stores and I mean at lot! Don't be afraid to bargain the price of souvenirs
Very easy to get to. Taxi to Xi'an railway station , walk towards it and turn right. Go behind the convenience store and board bus 5(306). Once on board they will collect your 7rmb fare. 45mins ride.
It is always better to start in pit #2 then #3 and the orgasm is pit #1. You can get here by bus #306 from Railway Station for just 7RMB and avoid the pricy tours !
Terracotta Warrior founded in 1974 by Local-Farmer. Were made in Tang-Dinasty 2000yrs ago. They have 5 sightseeings: Pit1-Pit2-Pit3-BronzeWeaponExhibitionHall & BronzeChariots&HorsesExhibitionHall
To truly appreciate the relic, prior reading of the history behind the warriors are essential as the museum only provide brief information. Nonetheless, the museum and its content are magnificent.
An official guide costs between 100 and 140 RMB, but is definitely worth the money. Pit #1 is the most impressive, well-known sight, the others are covered to preserve the colours of the statues .
When we were there in late December there was an exhibit of mummy’s and tombs another artifacts of Egypt. Modern inside. Good place to come to warm up after going through pit 1,2, and 3
If you’re lucky, you may get to see the conservators gluing some of the broken warriors back together.
Easy to get in and out. There is no need to hire a driver. Take the public bus 306 at Xi’an rail station (it departs every 10 min) and get off at the last stop (1 hr trip). Too crowd though.
I fell in love with this Warrior, just look at the details of his clothes , his hair, his eyes!! Amazing!
Pit 1 will blow you away and is the busiest! Try and gauge whether its visiting pit 1 twice for a 'balcony shot' also check out the miniature horses and chariots in pit 2! Dont go to the coffee house !
Bigger museum than expected. Spent lovely time there. Summers are quite hot and humid in Xi'an so be prepared to bring lots of water and a fan as the main exhibit is roofed but open (like a gazebo ).
a must see place in china, you Will need 4-5 hours to see all around. try to help old ladies who are selling their handmade goods, and dont bargain with them for 10rmb!!
Price around 120 yuan and 60 yuan for student.from entrance to sites will take 25 minutes by walk.other altrnative, golf car cost 5 yuan.overall quite expensive ,but worth with the experince..love it
Really amazing and a ‘Must See’ if you’re anywhere near by.
Woow ! Truly Magnificent & Extraordinary place not to be mixed indeed when in Xi'an.
A lifetime opportunity, witnessing famous ancient history in reality, as it was, be a part, experiencing, understanding how it begins and ends.
Hire a private driver/tour guide who can drive you right up to the front, instead of doing the long walk. Perfect if you have small children.
Coffee shop next to the museum was quiet when I went. Coffee was brewed from real beans. Wld prefer to view in this order: museum , pit 2,3,1. Longest row of shops i've ever passed to get out aft exit.
Amazing archeological find in progress. Multiple pits open and interpretive elements. A stunning feat of human design.
Do the main sites in reverse order starting with number 3 and leaving the more impressive first gallery for last.
If you want to buy terracotta warrior ornaments get them from a local manufacturer/shop. They are half the price and better quality. Ask your guide to@take you!
"If you're in Xi'An you gotta go!" everyone will tell you. You really don't. The place is overcrowded and you never get close enough to the warriors to make out any interesting details.
Try to take the first bus at 7 am to avoid the group tours . It gets really crowd after 10 am
Long walk....take the electric golf cart in - no other options but to walk out. If you go in the winter...make sure to dress for the North Pole.
Hire a tour guide . You can negotiate the price, but it is worth to have it, especially if it is crowded . Working days seem to be a better time to visit.
Hasn’t changed in 10 years. It’s a MUST SEE! Check out the video in the round in the building to the left of Pit 1.
Easiest & cheap way to get to Terracotta Warriors is by bus . Go to east side of the train station . Take bus you 5 (306) in front of China Post. Get off at last stop which is Terracotta warriors.
The bus for the Terracotta Warriors you can take it at the railway station parking lot , it‘s on the East side. It‘s #306. Don't take others, even though they get you there it takes longer.
It is hot and crowded but all worth it to see the Terracotta Army. There were some exhibits under construction .
Get there early to beat the traffic and crowd. Opens at 8:30am
The Terracotta Army is really a must see in China, try to go really early to dodge most of the tourists !
Don't buy the cheap replicas they are selling outside for 10 RMB. They are made of a different clay that doesn't hold up against high temperatures like the ones they sell inside. It will melt.
A must see. Is breathtaking to see all these incredible terracotta man
Awesome view ! Go mornings & weekday to avoid crowds. Good guide will tell many interesting facts
While nothing compares with seeing one of the country 's hottest tourist draws in person, you can make that experience richer with some advance reading on the famed Terracotta Warriors. Read more
Magnificent site to visit. Not to be missed if you are in Xi An.
A must-to-see attraction at Xi'an. The museum has pit 1,2,3 and unique relics . Be aware of the local drivers who want to take you to a fake palace and waste your time and money.
An amazing experience. They are serious about no photography - they will take your tape/card from you if caught!
Hall 1 is the nicest. Would recommend going backwards from Hall 3, 2, leaving 1 for last!
The history here is amazing. We had a very helpful and professional tour guide .
Awesome visit
Iconic and mesmerising. Don't bother with the 'movie ' and don't buy souvenirs from gift shop , the prices are majorly inflated
Amazing sure to see. Came here in late December. Not too crowded but very cold. - Vivian Lee
Smallest pit but this one contains all the generals and high up officers. Horse ???? sculptures here are amazing and well restored. - Gregory K.
There’s a really lot to see, you’ll get a lot more out of it if you spring a couple hundred RMB for tour guide that speaks your language - plus they know all the shortcuts between buildings! - Dave Mc
A great and quiet place to get away from it all. You could take the tram and see the pits, or take a quiet stroll around mound thru the trees and flowers. - Erik Mueller
Kings, Queens, and Presidents have all bathed in this natural spring water - and you can too! - Dave Mc
