1916 年に台南庁舎として建てられた、銅瓦のマンサード屋根が印象的な建物。外壁に煉瓦を用いた RC 造で、設計は台北州庁 (現在の監察院) や専売局 (現在の台湾菸酒 本社) も担当した森山松之助。1920 年の行政区画再編に伴い台南州庁となり、戦後は台南市政府庁舎として利用されていた。

もとは日本統治時代の1916年に、森山松之助の設計で建てられた旧台南州庁。軍庁舎や台南市政府に転用後、2003年からは台湾初の文学館に。Classic Building, built as Tainan Region Hall at 1916. Since 2003, this building is used as the first Literature Museum of Taiwan.

為能完整典藏、研究、展示、及推廣臺灣文學 資產，在臺灣文化界人士的極力奔走之下，催生了臺灣首座國家級的文學博物館「國立臺灣文學 館」。
