Very small cozy spot in the Village . Wine and beer only. Sit at the bar and be sure to check out the specials. The octopus was delicious, the pesto pasta a highlight & the Wild boar risotto , brilliant
Neatly tucked away on a quaint but gorgeous West Village block, this fantastic Italian spot is a perfect choice for an intimate date. Order tapas style and share a couple pastas and apps. Molto Buono!
Oh my god, the truffle gnocchi was to die for. We also got the robiola (which tasted a bit like cream cheese ) and sopressata , which came with honey and walnuts . It was all perfection.
New favorite! Bruce the manager is a gem! Get the burrata (always a special app), kale salad , spaghetti polpetti, tortellini w/cream sauce. Pair it w/a bottle of Super Tuscan & finish w/bread pudding !
Bolognese (the most amazing) or Fettucine fungi + Crab cake with Burrata for starters. This place is THE BEST. Combo of simplicity and amazing flavour. Pure Italy. Chardonnay Friuli was...splendid.
Fantastic & cute small Italian restaurant . The black truffle gnocchi was perfect and the ricotta cheesecake blew me away! Strong recommendation and great date spot ! Try the Riesling
New Italian small plates spot from the Aria team, perfect for a date with the same great value and even more cozy than the original. Burrata , lamb , all the pastas including bucatini , creme brûlée .
Hands down my favorite go to restaurant in NYC. I had a 10 person dinner there and the owner and staff were incredibly accommodating. Service was amazing, the food was delicious as always. Thank you!
Very very good and affordable food. The squid starter is great as well as the carpaccio . Very packed and loud but very cozy at the same time
just wow. The reviews were right, the truffle gnocchi is to die for. but everything was just divine; the lobster ravioli , the pinot Grigio and ricotta cheesecake were amazing
I tried Burrata ,feta cheese salad and bruschetta for starters and mac & cheese and arrabbiata as main course all of them were perfect , the restaurant is cozy with nice atmosphere and service 👌🏼
Grilled octopus salad , black truffle gnocchi , linguine vongole
Incredible, cozy little date spot in the village . Me and my girlfriend came here for my 28th and we weren’t disappointed. Sumptuous food, fragrant cocktails . Highly recommend.
Simply excellent. The starters, the wine selection , the fresh pasta -- all great. Topped off by excellent service in a cozy atmosphere . We dined as a group of six, but will be back for a date.
It's a bunch of French guys who opened 8 of these Italian restaurants in NY. Pasta is homemade . Everything is fresh. Prices are terrific. Even Fox seemed to like it, his 1st night out in Manhattan.
Everything we had our first time was amazing. We live right near and will be back many times to try the rest. They seem to do a lot of private events , may want to call ahead to see if their open.
Reservation for 4+ guests. Cosy, inexpensive and great flavors. Def. liked the tomato based pastas more. Try the specials. We had Boar & squid and it was fantastic.
Authentic Italian food !The bucatini is my favorite pasta ; linguine vongole is always delicious. Start out with the buratta and prosciutto . Don't forget the cheesecake for dessert !
Great place for dates, a tiny spot in west village with excellent Italian food paired with a large selection of wines . Do order the bruschetta and mussels .
cotenna has gone downhill. i loved it when i first came 2 yrs ago but this summer the music was too loud and the staff was unhelpful. it’s not cozy and def not the 3rd best italian restaurant in nyc
Did you ever had a craving for good Italien food, that isn't just pizza . I mean real Italian craving! If you for come here, you won't spend much and get everything you're looking for
Good date spot . Perfectly portioned pasta and outstanding service . Everything is easily shared and the staff is extremely knowledgeable about the wine .
A tiny casual spot , with delicious food! Had the burrata+prosciutto, grilled octopus salad , black truffle gnocchi and tiramisu . All were superb! Seating is very tight. Will definitely come back.
Excellent food...try the grilled octopus and the burrata with prosciutto
We have ordered different kinds of pastas , lasagna , ravioli , mac and cheese and gnocchi . They were great! We started our meal with kale and rocola salad .. we loved it👌
Very cozy , great for an intimate dinner . The downstairs area is a great space to host a small birthday party. The food was absolutely delicious!
This place is Great! the food was delicious (We order 5 different dishes and everything was yammy), cool vibes and excellent team!! Highly recommended
Penne Pesto , Calamari , Orechiette, Rigatoni Gamberi paired with Nero D'Avola. Great spot for date night and a quiet candlelit dinner .
The octopus was well made, very nice artichoke pesto penne and amazing truffle Mac and cheese . The Mac and cheese can get overweening so share! The food actually made up for the very rude service.
Best Italian food I’ve had outside of Italy. And the cozy and close environment is odd at first but then turns to warm and friendly . Not the cheapest place but worth every penny.
Cool, intimate place with great food and wine . Very affordable for this part of town , and great service - especially from Bruce the manager
Cosy, ideal date restaurant . Try the truffle mac & cheese , tortellini with creamy sauce & prosciutto . For desserts Tiramisu is yummilicious!
Mushroom & truffle fettucine . B had the peas and creamy fettucine . Both 8/10. Dates (10) + mango/goat cheese app-9. Really good in terms of qual + price but bar was cramped. Ricota cheesecake OK
Delicious food, cozy atmosphere . You might want to share a couple dishes. The lamb ribs appetizer , the truffle Mac and cheese , and the tagliatelle fungi were incredible
Osso Buco , Pesto , Wild Boar , Pecorino Kale . Cozy , great ambience, incredible food.
Rigatoni with spicy shrimp and tuna carpaccio were flawless, but it was the plate of cheeses (taleggio , robiola and parmigiano reggiano ) that really stood out.
Cotenna, a new Italian Restaurant opens inside the ’ino Space. They have an extensive menu full of meats and seafood . Order the grilled lamb chops , balsamic vinegar , and roasted potatoes . Read more
where else would you get a free bottle of wine just because? amazing food but service and ambience is why you pick cotenna. Burrata , gnocchi , and artichokes are 10/10. Would not reco the baked clams .
Quality of food to price ratio is incredible. Get the calamari and rigatoni
Cute date spot , very small space. Great food, got burrata app, tortellini dish. Arugala salad was good starter. Friend got wild boar dish.
Amazing pasta dishes for $12. If you're lucky, try to snag the high top table in the back right - best seat in the house.
Cozy atmosphere and solid wine selection . Get small plates to share and finish the meal off with delicious pasta
Lamb chops and mac and cheese - pair with a glass and a half of wine . Cozy spot . Good for dates . Dishes are small enough you can order 3 if you're hungry.
amazing, well priced pasta dishes. tried the papardelle and now i want to try them all. get a cheese and meat plate to start and never turn down burrata .
The best and affordable Italian food in the village . Tiny restaurant though so be prepared to get cozy .
We got the burrata , octopus app, lobster risotto and pescatore pasta . +3 drinks. Enough food for 4. $120 or so. Very reasonable.
This is the best Italian food I have had outside of Tuscany !! The penne pesto , truffle gnocchi was outstanding! You can't go wrong with Contena.
Everything! Atmosphere, people, food, drinks, prices! One of my favorite dinner places in NYC!
Cozy atmosphere , attentive service , and delicious Italian food . Dessert is on point and the portions, while not large, are satisfying and comparable to the price.
2nd time back at this cozy spot , had the carbonara and fungi fettuccini . Both excellent with the former being on the heavier side, but that's to be expected.
Vibrant environment and excellent food. Lots of vegetarian options; don't miss the cauliflower. - Kathryn D
Love this hidden gem. Very small and usually always packed. But they make some of the best drinks in NYC. - Shawn Thornton
We had an awsome night filled w/ lots of laughter! I absolutely recommend to go there, but you better book your ticket in advanced! Snacks (onion rings & fries) are good too ;) - Mareike Bräuer
