The "upper deck" rest area , located behind the security check, in the upper floor can be used by everyone.
If you are thirsty, buy a bottle "Viva con Aqua" every shop! offers them for 2€ - although they're trying to hide them sometimes. You're also doing something good since it's a social project!
favourite airports . Well laid out, easy to understand and friendly . The architecture is worth observing, don't rush through, take your time and look at some great design and engineering .
Very good airport compare to Berlin one. For tax free permier tax refund before security point and global blue after. Custom clearance is between 2 and 3 lines . ✈️
I haven't spend that much time in this one, but germans know how to make airports . They have good connections to the city and the airport was clean and Comfy !
The best airport in Germany! Close to the city , well organized and every connection you could need is available. Only the Lufthansa Lounge are quite a bit worse than in Frankfurt or Munich.
Super smooth airport ! Coming in from the United States was a breeze. The staff was also very kind. Thank you, Hamburg Airport .
Very convenient and it has everything you need.
Kostenloser Wasserspender zwischen den Gates C07/C08 -- free filtered water fountain to enjoy delicious Hamburg water.
If you want to have a small snack , head to the bakery near the Edeka that you see right near the entrance to the S-Bahn station near Terminal 2
Lufthansa becomes Fanhansa this Summer. During the football World Cup a total of eight aircraft in the Lufthansa fleet will swap their well-known lettering for the new ‘Fanhansa’ logo.
Busy airport in Hamburg. Make sure you have enough time to get through security - gets very busy at peak times.
Good and efficient airport . Everything is easy and quick. I looked for wurst to buy on the way back home but they dont sell sausages and cheeses anywhere
Head to gates A18 and A20 to get your customs tax stamp, next to Global Blue, in order to claim your VAT back. Note that they'll have lunch breaks too and return back after 12:15.
Fairly simple and easy to get around. Small and directionally sound. Airline lounges are scarce and when you are in one the foor is kinda iffy...
Clean and spacious . Not many eateries before check in (only McDonalds at the third floor). Shops and duty free really weak. Air conditioning is struggling with high number of passengers.
You can easily travel to the city center (Hauptbahnhof) by S-Bahn (S1) train in only 25 minutes. Just follow the signs of S-Bahn. Direct train in every 10 minutes...
A big but beautiful airport ..easy to find your way but be carefull beacause the control from security in check in makes you feel like a criminal...
If you have a long time to wait for flight, go upstairs and grab a beer from "la terrasse" restaurant . There you can also use the free electricity for most needed "charging".
Always look for the flight number when searching for your gate. For example, there are two simultaneous flights to Stuttgart at 8:30. Could be very stressful to run through the whole airport .
Don't waste time and money in traffic jam to the city . You can easily reach the city center and central station by train (S-Bahn) for just 3€.
Glad that @Drive_Now is now also available in Hamburg. Pick/Leave your car at the airport at Parking deck 4 / Lane N / Level 2
Try the restaurants on second floor if you fancy to eat something good. Marche bakery surprised me! Fresh and tasty, unlike everything on first floor.
Quite compact, even at 5:30 with long lines of business travelers it takes 15-20 min to go from the entrance to the duty free behind the security checks, if you don't have check-in luggage
Water fountain next to Gate C07. Refill your water bottle ????
A cute airport with lots of Kobe Bryant and Messi pictures. The best about this airport is the way to Hamburg city !
It’s a business airport - in and out in the same day. The airport lacks good food place hence don’t rely on a nice dinner after a long busy day in Hamburg.
An airport organized by Germans - and I think I summed it up for you. Always a pleasure to fly from here.
A wonderful viewing point on a third level in terminal 1! Highly recommend)✈️
Power station between gate a39 and a40 : 3x2 USB and 3x3 220
Backery next to Edeka is great. Good coffee and surprisingly reasonable prices in comparison with the other cafes at the airport . Perfect for early morning flights!
This is how airport should be , I recommend to all other airports to take courses in Hamburg how to take care of details
If you are flying in christmas or summer session, it is a good chance to have delay of your flight. Take a small bottle of whiskey and drink it against the planes landing and taking off.
Picking up someone? Tell that person to go up to the drop off so you don't need to pay for parking !
There few useful shops beyond security (typical clothes , cafe etc.) So if you need supplies pass through Edeka or similar in the Departures Hall beforehand.
AirBerlin Gates have free Playboy Magazines!!1- Of course nobody will notice if you casually pull the Financial Times over it after standing there (sweating) for 60 seconds. Except me. Behind you.
If you get a food voucher for a flight delay, spend it at the Edeka supermarket on ground floor (before security control): much more value for money than the expensive food outlets at the gates.
Did you know, that Hamburg Airport (HAM ) is Germany's oldest airport . It opened for service in 1911.
Airport are connected to S-bahn which take you in 25 minutes to city center. Turkish Airlines gives you 1 h free Wi-Fi.
It‘s located on the upper level close to A20. In case you have a lot of hand luggage take the elevator near A19.
Pretty airport . Quick check-in. Fast security control. Good duty free . Big smoke area . Welcome to amazing city .
btw: Moin Moin does NOT mean "Good Morning", you can say it all day. If you want to feel and act like a local (like "senf" suggested), and if you are under 40, you might want to use "Moinsen" instead.
If you want to get to get to the city centre, take the S-Bahn's S1 route. You'll get to Hamburg Central Station (Hamburg Hauptbahnhof) in 25 minutes.
Easy electronic check-in available, it depends on your flight... clean and nice ????
Great place to do some shopping in the duty free zone! Awsome victorias Secret shop!????
Electric car chargers for overnight parking very convenient on the ground floor right across arrivals entrance.
Make sure you stock some Big Macs before security as all restaurants at gates are a cartel run by the same company and offer the same crappy sandwiches everywhere

Buy Finlandia Vodka at the Heinemann Duty Free shop... Cool, crisp, pure from Finland. - Penny Brisson
Very easy to reach from the city. Compact and clean. Wary limited choice on shops and eateries. Not convenient for@long waits in between flights. - Oğuz A.
