درباره علت نامگذاری این را باید گفت که در جریان شورش افغان‌ها در اواخر دوره صفویه، فردی به نام قربان این محل را سنگرگاه خود قرار داده و ضمن دفع شورشگران از اهالی محل دفاع کرد
