Again had a great night upstairs at the O2 Academy last night, this time went to see Bigelf who were very good. Didn't know alot about them before but do now. Great live venue with plenty of bar near
Drinks are very expensive on gig nights, like most O2 academys. You can get an app on your phone that gives you a discount but you have to pay for the round via PayPal
The O2 Academy was once called The Zodiac. Back in Radiohead's "On a Friday" days, this was called the CO-OP Dining Hall and then changed to The Venue.The video for "Creep" was filmed here.

The Academy 2 can get incredibly hot, don't wear a jumper! Great venue though

Red Star Noodle Bar across the road is great for pre-gig food, but can get busy
Use the natwest cash point before going in the venue to avoid paying to use the one inside

Don't buy alcohol in here, the selection is poor and it's very expensive . Get crunked before arriving!
Good intimate gig space. I drove so ordered a soda & lime which was 30p (I'm used to London prices). Lots of restaurants on the same road to eat at before hand. Parking free after 630 down side roads - Sophia Tremenheere
Old Fashioned remains my fav cocktail here so far. It does take the longest to make (approx 10 min) but it is prepared to perfection. Makers mark rules. Do give it a try. - Laurenti Arnault
