Dinner buffet was great, but breakfast is what really sets this place apart with so many delicious Sri Lankan dishes. Probably the best hotel breakfast I've had anywhere in the world.

Really like their Grand Thai and Breakfast menus . Thai Sweet Potato soup , Tom Yum soup and their Cheese Cakes are some of memorable dishes.

Dinner was great at Grand Indian. Staff is very friendly . Great atmosphere. Food is great. Best of all no TAX or service charge ;-) better than indian food in colombo.

The place is great! Old British feel.. but there's no wifi inside the rooms. You must connect and do net stuff at the lobby! Talk about hassle eh? Anyway, the food was superb!

When booking get a room in the newer wing with much better sound insulation than the wooden construction provides in the more historic sections.

Beautiful hotel . Hightea was great. Staff was good but a bit slow. The Buffet was ok but quite expensive . Front desk manager was quite proud and arrogant.

Victorian feel.....the absence of wifi in the rooms is a turnoff!!

Do take the stairs, lift can be on total opposite side of your room.

Lifts door close faster than any life in the word. Be careful especially kids.. In the name of british age hotel they guys have not upgraded. Triple rooms are better. Bathrooms are 30 yrs old !
