安平樹屋的前身是德記洋行的倉庫，後來在日治時期與德記洋行建築一同交由「大日本鹽業株式會社」使用。 二次大戰後，該倉庫一度又被繼承的臺鹽所使用，但後來任其荒廢，以致於建築物被榕樹入侵、共生而成今貌，以建築物與榕樹共生為其特色。
認真看要花很多時間，定時有導覽可以聽

館內有個流水檯，檯前是流水，檯面是灰色的。除此之外，檯面上也擺了許多毛筆，遊客可以沾檯前的水在灰色的檯面上寫字，練習毛筆，非常有趣。除此之外，注意窗戶上也有噴砂的書法字，透過陽光映在流水檯上，或許可以臨摹。 - szway mi
