Love this place. It's huge. Great beer - my personal favorite in the NW. Top floor has great views and live music on Sunday. They also have a separate tasting room and lower bar w/ different taps
The best fish and chips . They use albacore tuna instead of cod . The burgers are juicy - at least 2 napkins. If you like dark beer - the doomed rider is for you. Creamy chocolaty goodness.
We had a meatloaf special that was the perfect mix of spicy and robust beef flavor. Of course Vortex is one of the worlds best beers ever.
Super good fish and chips (they use albacore tuna instead of cod )! All of their beers are great! You’re sure to find something to your liking...
I liked the Working Girl Porter and my husband liked the guest ale 3 Way IPA and the regular The Optimist. Great calzones ...large enough for two!!
I would like to recommend that people come in person to enjoy the experience. Upstairs pizza and downstairs burgers , fries & more. Beer to satisfy everyone's palate.
Restaurant has a very unique setup, taco room, pizza room, and regular dinning. The salads are excellent and trendy . Sandwiches are topnotch. Service is fantastic. IPAs my husband was impressed.
Fort George is one of my favorite places in Astoria. I go there every time I visit. Great beer , great food, great people and a cool atmosphere. What more could you want?
Beer and food were great! Large spaces both upstairs and downstairs. Mostly pub food downstairs, upstairs features pizza . Service was middling to poor. Inattentive and infrequent.
Wood-fired pizza upstairs includes gluten-free crust option! (“prepared in wood oven with risk of gluten exposure, kitchen not certified GF.”)
Try the Fried Cod W/ Sausage Soup - The cod was perfectly cooked. The house hot sauce is pretty damn good too. Subbed fries for the Spicy Italian Sausage and White Bean Soup .
If you get tired of the queue for the head downstairs, they did put in some new bathrooms with the upstairs remodel - usually shorter lines !
Check out the pizza upstairs . Great wood fired pies and an outstanding view of the Columbia River .
Bought myself as a parting gift from Astoria, OR 97103, I am leaving with Java The Hop (16 OZ), Mindful Dipa (4 16 OZ) & Matryoshka (500 ML)
Great burgers , and Kavatica stout is awesome. Be prepared to wait, this place gets busy and a lot of the servers are inefficient. It's worth it though if you've got time!
Try the Chili Verde Nachos - Awesome nachos ! The meat was well seasoned, the chips were crisp, and overall the dish was awesome! Not usually impressed by nachos ...
Spicy Sausage ! Good, but spicy ! Awesome soup - white bean , fennel & spicy sausage . Had the fish tacos , good but not amazing. Vortex was as good as promised!!!
Great brewery , damn fine wood-fired pizza . Upstairs offers floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river .
Very friendly staff . Get the beer flight ! Oh, and it seems that the menu rotates- not all of the tips left refer to available dishes.
Great brewery , lots of seating options. Try brewery only beers .
Not as dog-friendly as they used to be -- if you're with your pup they'll now make you sit outside upstairs and it's all self-service ordering. Bummer. Still good beer , though.
Beer and pizza are great! The views are awesome as well !
Go to the tap room (next to the brew pub ) and ask John to pour you some beers . He reads minds and knows his shit!
There's an upstairs and downstairs--two different menus and two different waiting lists for seating. Can't go wrong either way.
Everything we ordered! Cheese fries , turkey sandwich and the double hamburger .
The fish & chips are huge! Found out later I could have gotten the child's size. But if you can eat a ton then you will be happy.
The finest brewery in the Pacific Northwest. So many option for beer , food, and fun. A++++
Lower Columbia lager and chicken sandwich were much better than I was expecting at a small town brewery
Here sat the Queen's fort. We took it back and added a wonderful brewery and piza parlour. World known beer sold out of here.
Get the taster tray! 13 in all! Such a great way to find the perfect Fort George beer for you :)
Great low-key atmosphere. A nice place to grab one of Astoria, OR. local brews/meals, while catching up w/ friends and enjoying live local music .
Looses a point for serving good beer in jam jars. Would you serve good wine in a jam jar? Beer glasses are shaped the way they are for a reason.
February is a great month to visit the Fort. Especially if you love dark beer . With 8 stouts on tap in the main bar and several more in the tasting room it is guaranteed to please.
The burger was tasty and the hand-cut fries were great. The Working Girl Porter was very good.
Great beer and food, with plenty of seats inside, outside, or upstairs.
The Fort has the best selection of big beers that you are likely to find in the NW. The service is friendly as well . Try the sausage sampler with the IPA .
I didn't have the sausage when I went here, but I wish that I did. Do yourself a solid and get the sampler.
Food is not palatable but the beer is always great. Weekly talks in the showroom are also great!
Hummus platter is outstanding--complete with feta , kalamata olives , and warm pita bread .
Excellent food great environment friendly people and oh yes the beer is great also!
everyone's favorite coastal brewery now has a large space upstairs. still working on their pizza recipe tho
Solid brewery pub food in the heart of Astoria.
The upstairs is definitely where you want to go for beer with a view .
Pay them a visit during February - “Stout Month”. You won’t be disappointed...
One of the best Oregon breweries . Great service.
Awesome beer line up and varied food options!
Great selection of local beer !
You have to try the house-made sausages !
If you're an IPA fan, get the Vortex. If you have more than one, call a cab.
Best wood fired pizza and beer :)
Beer is awesome. Don't forget to check out the special release bottles, especially the imperial stouts. - John Kent
Great experience. Awesome beer of course and they also have good service and food. Outstanding view of the Columbia River and all the ships going up and down it. - Jacob Heuberger
Eat the atomic burger with an IPA. The fire, floral combo is brilliant! - Jeff Bettger
The view from the tower is spectacular but if you can’t get up those stairs (164 ????) the views from below are incredible too. - Melissa ♡︎
Love it!! Delicious pastries and such a nice environment! - Niki Baker of foreignspell
Food and drink don't disappoint. Try a taster to sample several tasty beers. They also have their newer sodas that are tasty. And it's on a pier in an old cannery! - Justin T.
