Best free, unobstructed views of the monument are from the pier parking lot .

Hey, it's a monument . The ride and admission are both steep. One due to the incline and other is a dollar amount thing. I'm told the view from the top is good. We didn't walk up to the top.

They say it is 116 steps, but we counted. It was 173. Make sure you have good shoes and are ready for a climb. Great view at top.

For those that enjoy history, the musuem is well worth checking out!
