Definitely worth walking up to the last lookout point. Also please heed the signs about not trampling the nature. Not doing so make you a huge ass.
Amazing canyon with nice walking track . It is one of the must visited places in Iceland . There are two parking slot one is only accessible by 4x4 cars.
You should visit this canyon around lunch time, afternoon and in the morning whole canyon will be in shadow
The canyon was created by progressive erosion by flowing water from glaciers through the rocks and palagonite over millennia.
One of the most beautiful places in southern Iceland , in my limited experience. Take the detour and check it out.
It's totally worth the trip from Reykjavik. A very intimate experience with nature and its wonders.
If you duck under the ropes to get your “perfect Instagram photo”, even the Americans will think you’re a real jerk. (And your photos will be mediocre, too)
Must Go place!

Bring a stone and leave it here for good luck. Definitely more impressive in summer. - Karin Gattringer
