Incredible detail on new Sharp flat screen TV in our unit. Pool area is a favorite-an adult pool and 3 others with lots of chaise lounges . Nicely appointed kitchen to whip up your meals.
Stayed with a Groupon deal. Indoor pool was out of order. Was repeatedly badgered to buy a time share , staff was otherwise friendly . Rooms were beautiful & spacious . Location is great.
We got a great great deal for a 1 bedroom but when we checked in we were upgraded to a 2 room and yes near the pool!! Rooms were awesome. AT&T smart phones free wifi . Time share was easy to say no to.
Found them via Groupon. Super nice and spacious 2nd-floor 2-bedrooms. Do not waste your time on the "welcome bag" after check-in--it's a high-pressure sales pitch I lived without. Check in and go.
Our room is really nice. We enjoy the variety of activities and everyone we've encountered working here has been quite friendly . Had breakfast and lunch at the Grill and enjoyed both.
Amazing place to relax , and enjoy it brings back old times but services are great, and the kitchen at Powhatan pretty delicious check it out! You won't regret it!
Resort is undergoing major rennovations & improvements. New playground & mini-golf just opened -- my kids loved them. Great resort for the runner. I got in 5 miles easily without lapping.
Nice rooms for larger family that wants more space than typical hotel rooms. Recreational area with pool and restaurant . Close to attractions . Downfall- small water heaters and try to push timeshares!
Units are spacious , grounds are well kept, plenty of activities, great place to stay. Only con is the WiFi is $30 a device for the week.
Booked at the Howard Johnson down the street... It's a rathole. Booked at the resort on the drive over and got a big discount . Loved the place
Many areas recently updated, Grounds in pristine condition. Been going there for 20 years - family favorite but do appreciate the recent upgrades.
Updated rooms, no problem connecting to Wifi , fantastic pools (with a bar ) and grounds. Gorgeous.
No more "Per Device " Wi Fi 's. Current password is available at front desk. Complimentary it seems. Love the activites and great staff .
They have free wifi now which is cool but the way they try to push a timeshare presentation on you is very much annoying. Timeshares are for suckers. $65 Groupons FTW!
Great resort ...would come back in a heartbeat! The rooms are a bit old but with a hot tub in the room, you really can't complain!
Pottery painting craft by indoor pool is $5 each.
Historic Grounds- great coffee shop !
Nice villas . Free WiFi for owners. Nice adult pool area .
As of Jan. 12th, 2013, they're taking out all the hot tubs . So there goes one of the major perks of staying here.
Nice condo suites, wifi was just redone and made free as of last week!
Cascading indoor and outdoor pools , plus racquetball and hiking trails , make it an activity-lover's dream.
Decent resort , though definitely showing it's age. Shower doors hard to slide, hot tub enclosure lacquer disintegrating. Still, if you want a cozy vacation, this is the place.
Concierge desk is for selling timeshare. You will be offered 3 nights / 4 days trip for sitting through the brief. (We skipped it)
All check out resort . Beautiful day for a road trip back home to myrtle beach
You have to pull the faucet ring at the end of the spout to get the shower to work in the tub.
Has been updated on inside. Needs some work on outside. For weekend or quick getaway, works just fine!
Great rooms beautiful place
I loved my stay here and will definitely come back!
Pushy sales team will call you in room if you are a not a member, outdated rooms and appl , expensive AT&T wifi ($30/device). Come if you have young kids and want to show them how old 19" tvs look.
WiFi is free in your room. Other top must be old.
Request an updated unit near the pool. You'll thank me later. Pool bar closes at 9.
Make sure the wifi works on your ipod if you have one. Only the wifi on my phone works :-(
It only costs $30 a week for internet per device ! Thanks AT&T :)
190 I stayed at
It's looks really pretty coming in but the rooms are definitely outdated. The hot tub that we had was just a bigger bath tub with jets.
Seriously? $30 a week for WiFi when you're already paying dues, payments and fees for the timeshare?
Condo was slightly outdated and TV was from the 90's. Most of the amenities were closed for refurbishment which wasn't mentioned when we booked . Wouldn't recommend it! Wi-fi is 30 bucks a week too?!?
Pass this one by. Unless they do a major updating and allow free WiFi , look elsewhere.
Not for me. Even though the breakfast was good, I felt as if I were in a dark Bavarian cellar. No pic necessary.
Our "other home"
30 bucks a week PER device for wifi ? Outrageous. Rooms are outdated and gross. We had to get switched because they gave us a filthy room and the second room still had dirty towels in it! Unacceptable.
THIS PLACE IS OLD AND FOUL!!!! I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone!!!!! What a disappointment b/c the grounds are very nice but the rooms are AWFUL!!!!!!
The rooms look like the 90s vomited in them. They seriously need to update the rooms.
Decision to remove hottubs .......was a bad move...
I came in second
The WiFi from AT&T is just about useless, not reliable, and way over priced.
Expensive security deposit even though we paid for the room they tried to PUSH the timeshare presentation on us
Only wifi access is paid from AT&T which sucks. Why do hotels do this?
Disappointed...room is outdated.
It's downstairs below the restaurant, and the gym is really nice. Got a great workout in before lounging at the pool. - Slightly Perfect
They have everything here from snacks to wine to souvenirs. So convenient. And the prices are reasonable, so we didn't always feel a need to leave the resort if they had one or two things we needed. - Slightly Perfect
Cutest little restaurant. Great setting and food. Good prices.:-) - Cathy Suthard
Very comfortable resort. Loved the security gate guards waving every time a guest enters. - Jerry Hufton
Awesome Resort. Rooms are modern and very large. - Dave Cuichta
Great coffee and chocolate chip cookies, and very nice people :) love it - Katie Wilson
Amazing service! Friendly people! They know how to keep the trash out of their beautiful park :-) - Katie Millner
Takes 2-3 hours minimum. Museum has a wealth of information. Recreated settlements and ship that you can walk through are all very interesting. - Ann Bradshaw
Good food and great service - Pat Nudi
