Absolutely worth visiting! Massive ramparts , medieval castle , narrow streets with small shops and restaurants . Food is fantastic and locals very nice.

A lovely day visit, go later in the day or you will end up in a queue of people trying to get a move on in the main street... lovely sweet shops, but some cold restaurant service

Visiting in December is really good idea, because you miss the crowds. You don't need to pay anything to enter La Cité and the view from the outer walls is great, no need to pay fee to inner walls.

Cité is beautiful, but I think you can find in the South France more interesting places. Great place if you love middle age world.

If you want to sleep in the medieval town , don't go with wheel suitcase, unless the hotel has pickup service. I had my suitcase broken(stone floor) and there was no a place to fix it around the city .

Lovely town for a short break - really enjoyed visiting the ramparts and old Cité.

Stay until after 5, when the tourist buses leave it's peaceful and much more atmospheric

Extraordinaria ciudad medieval, bien preservada gracias a Eugene Violet Le duc. Importante en la historia de los cátaros en el siglo XIII y además se puede pasear por el canal de Midi (siglo XVII).

Llegando a la entrada y contando una caminata tranquila , sin las visitas guiadas, toma al menos unas 2 a 3 horas p/recorrer. Restaurantes de época que sorprenden: buena atención y sabores especiales

Lindíssima e perfeita cidade medieval . Dica se chegar tarde na cidade tipo depois das 22 horas existe ainda alguns restaurantes e lanchonetes abertos na parte histórica de Carcassone. Aproveite!

Même si c'est très touristique, la cité reste incontournable si vous passez par Carcassonne !

Es muy bonito el castillo y la zona amurallada pero se puede pasar sin ver la parte de pago (8'50€), no merece la pena, es lo mismo pero desde dentro del castillo .
