Arrive before 9am and you can drive straight to entrance (around the gate) instead of taking the shuttle . Definitely do the ladders to the Alcove House , it's the best part of the park .
A great hiking area. The cliff dwellings are interesting. The hiking trails are nice. Can hike 5 miles, up 800' without knowing it. Family friendly . Kind of reminded me of a mini Zion.
Skip the tourists and annoyances at the main route and head straight for Tsankawi - a prehistoric site that hasn't been dug up. It's prettier, more authentic , and you're alone! Absolutely incredible!
Late afternoon visit on New Year’s day was beautiful after a snow. Only had time for the main loop and Alcove house , but they are well worth it. Will spend much more time exploring here next time!
Great park that you can explore in a day. Get up early and drive in right at 9 to get parking and beat the crowds. You’ll feel like you have the place to yourself. Magical.
On a clear winter’s day, this place was amazing. Hike out the main loop in the sun and be impressed by the ancient civilization. Then walk back through the snow covered canyon floor... beautiful!
The hike to alcove house was great for our kids (8 and 6), the views are spectacular and the guides in the visitor center are really helpful.
Make sure to park in the Visitor's Center from there you will take a bus to the Park . Great hiking trails through some beautiful landscape.
Great hiking but you must take the drive to the Tsankawi portion of the park and do that hike . You won't be disappointed!
Super scenic !! Go do the longer hike to the alcove. There are a lot of stairs to the alcove but the view is awesome!!

Hike the extra distance to the Alcove House . It's a 140 climb up several ladders but it's worth the effort.
go to Alcove House , past the trail loop, and then go to the falls, past the visitor center ...6 mile hike ; dress in layers, pack snacks/water
You can drive it before 9am and after 3pm otherwise you must take the shuttle from White Rock Visitor Center .
You have to walk to see the best parks of the site, but the path is level.
Great trails and hiking . Interesting to see where the flash flood occurred in the valley
I loved walking into the cliffs... great for the family and great walking for an easy work out
You don't really have to take the shuttle from the visitor center if you go early enough
If you're able, be sure to make the climb up to Alcove House--it's an amazing experience and a gorgeous view !
Look closely at every piece of history and wildlife !
A magical experience
Love this place! So many ladders, so little time.
The Fall Trail is a nice hike . Just to give you a heads up, you only get to see the waterfalls from a great distance.
Backcountry backpacking is awesome
