Once home to the powerful Percy family who now reside in Alnwick Castle, Warkworth was and remains one of the largest and most impressive fortresses in North East England. It was once home to 'Harry Hotspur', hero of many Border ballads and the bane of Scots raiders.

Wonderful castle with an impressive history.
It’s a great place to visit, friendly staff , informative devices for the history. Stunning castle with a lot of exiting views . Can bring dogs and children here too.
Get into the main keep, its the main attraction . A bonus if the state rooms are open
my wife has limited mobility - however for a large castle this only had a couple of dozen 'easy' steps
Check that castle is open before you travel a distance to visit
Really great British pub atmosphere, great food and good service. Really lovely dog friendly menu too and just a generally jovial place to be in a beautiful village! - Richard Burkhill
What a great day. Not the cheapest but you can easily spend a whole day here. So much to do for all ages. From the fascinating history to Harry Potter Broomstick lessons. Highly recommended - Sarah Medlicott
Stunning fire by the Christmas tree, efficient service and wonderful breakfast food and tea. Quite a varied menu however, dog friendly and beautifully warm and welcoming. - Richard Burkhill
