Wife and I had Tea time @ the Grand Hotel! Absolutely amazing! Well worth the money if you're into classy establishments ! Dress for the occasion! This is very fine dining , staff are top notch.
The Grand Hotel has the world’s longest front porch , thousands of flowers , as well as a sign espousing the hotel’s dress code and not permitting non-guests any further. —SM http://bit.ly/OQLZO6
The Grand Luncheon Buffet is served in our main dining room. The dining room seats over 750 people. The legendary Grand Luncheon Buffet is one of the highlights of the Grand Hotel experience.
Great trip into history. Exceptional service. Some modernization (such as non-dining room evening options and affordable soft drinks ) would make the experience much better.
Stayed here for my anniversary. Amazing experience -- totally different world, like going way back in time (carriage to hotel , formal attire only for dinner , parlor entertainment). $$$$$ but worth it.
What a beautiful place and lovely experience!! Went here for the lunch buffet and was very pleased - a good selection of very gourmet food and what a gorgeous place to eat it in.
Visiting car-free Mackinac Island can feel like traveling back to a simpler time. This charming hotel is where 1980 film Somewhere in Time time-traveling characters fall hopelessly in love. Read more
The Largest Hotel on the Island . It has variety of nice restaurants . Very nice.. Highly recommended ????
A destination with all the charm of a third-generation, family-owned resort . A national historic landmark visited by U.S. presidents, world-renowned entertainers, and families for well over a century.
Incredible historic site with great view of the straits. $$$$$ you decide if worth the price.
The main dining room seats over 750 people and the buffet tables are the length of the dining room - BON APPETIT! V = D smiles
Grand Hotel is the "Grand Dame" of Michigan. Located on quaint Mackinac Island, she is the standard in luxury hotels , service and amenities , from the days of privlideged travel.
Save yourself the 4.50 and walk to the Grand from the ferry . It's not far and is nice to visit the shops along the way.

What goes better with a few rounds of golf ? Hefewiezen & Pilsener Bottles of course! Try one while your out on the 9th hole.
Don't stick your hand in to stop the elevator doors closing unless you're 100% committed. And either quick or strong.
So very sad to see so much potential ruined by incongruous design, sour-smelling carpets, and general disregard for maintenance. Remove the carpet, let the piano and clicking of glasses echo thru out!
Dance in the Terrace Room! Live music every night from 9:30-11:30pm
Try their vanilla flan ! im sure you'll like it especially with a shot of fudge in a milk-chocolate cup;)
Here's the thing. The Grand Buffet is honestly not that great. The quality of the food is terrific, but the selection is just okay. Save room and go for the desserts !
The classical vibes there.
Lovely, lovely,lovely!
The raspberry creme brûlée is absolutely amazing.
Order the breakfast instead of the buffet . It's a lot better. The poached eggs , hash and potatos were excellent.
Order from the menu for breakfast , but lunch buffet was excellent!
Pricey and fancy . :)
Be sure to try the drink of the day. Porch Punch is my favorite!
Pretty, expensive , 10 dollars and proper dress to enter...just to enter the hotel .
If you're staying at the Grand Hotel, you'll have to go into "town " if you want to eat dinner before 6:30. All food places at the Grand close by 4pm.
Wear a tuxedo shirt to dinner . Record with hidden camera . Relive the fun.
I love it here!
Highly overrated. Stay in town & pay the $10 if you want to walk around the place. It is way cheaper than paying $550 a night for a tiny room with no view , average food and average service.
Beautiful dining room.
I hope they accept my AMEX Centurion card LOL!!!1!!!1!!!
Be prepared to act like your important. A Lot of pomp and circumstance in here
Tip the musicians ...they work hard. :)
They need to do something about the smell. Lovely hotel but smelled like a nursing home .
don't even try to look at the porch without a ticket. we walked past the hotel to get to a trail to see the beautiful houses on the water and were bombarded by staff about tickets. off-putting!!!
Hmm $10 to get in...it's okay, but not sure it's worth it.
Be prepared to pay $10 just to walk on the sidewalk out front of the hotel
Room service
Don't even bother eating the buffet lunch . The food is so not fresh and service waiters are super annoying.
This entire island is incredibly old - I would recommend skipping it unless you are over the age of 65, maybe even 75!
Really good food. Keep in mind the island for the most part gets their food all from Sysco or Gordon. It’s the chiefs that make the difference. Try the fish and chips. You’ll thank me. - Joseph Lawson
Find the starry staircase in the middle of the 4th floor, have some drinks, listen to the piano player and check out the cool views of the lake, town, and Mackinac Bridge - Philip Smith
The Herbal Body Wrap is awesome. Definitely will come back to this spa! - Michelle G
The view is awesome. Very peaceful. My brother and I stayed here after we rode the Zoo-de-mac. Our legs were very tired. We biked to the inn up several steep hills- be sure to plan for that. - Anna Harris-Shaw
The Spinach, Artichoke, and Bacon dip is definitely worth the cost! - Kristin Renee
Try the old fashioned here instead of the hotel. They know what they're doing. The fries were excellent, as is the view (especially if you like golf). - Teresa Molina
