One of better "attached to an institution" cafe 's. The terrace is beautiful with grand views of the lake , the food is pretty damn fine too. The large coffee comes in a bowl!!
Lamb burger was a lamb patty with no bun - still tasty though just not expected. Chips and aioli were delish. Sit outside on sunny days and enjoy the view .
Expensive but good location (the terrace is one of the few places in Canberra with a view of anything). Long queues at lunchtime.
The view of the lake , coupled with the food, it's top notch!
Been here a few times, great lunch always. Good environment
Watch out for the angry waiters . The girls are always sour. Two guys are happy and nice. Food is expensive . Coffee pretty good. Sit outside on a sunny day and look at Lake Burley Griffin. :-))
Book a table to watch the balloons launch during the balloon festival !
Cherry Berry Smoothie ($7)
A little buttoned-up perhaps but good coffee , free WiFi , killer ginger biscotti and Spanish tortilla-type things I remember from Madrid...
Food is more expensive . Better bring your own sandwich if you're researching in the library .
I always order the large coffee - it arrives in a bowl & makes me smile...
Ok for local books, otherwise National Portrait Gallery has a better shop - including the gift and book selections both. - Chinchew Palsu
Better value than the place upstairs, however it's in a basement. You're best off taking your food/drink outside. - Chinchew Palsu
Has one of the best NY cheesecake!:) Soft yet so dense. Exquiste to share with friends with jazz music in the background. - Ratih
Great #coffee #food #staff #vibe. What else do you want? :) - Az Vanderwolf ▲
It's a lovely building... there's the occasional good exhibition too. - Tomfoolery
Very well run and organised. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Wish they had something like this in Sydney. My 3 year old loved it, she was so engaged with the live shows. Worth the 3 hour drive. - Khiem Luu
Make sure you take the guided tour as the history known by the guides in amazing! - Adam Garner
