We enjoyed the tempura bento box , tempura banana and the apple and walnut cake . Lots of green tea . The place was packed. Staff very friendly and attentive. Beautiful views . Highly recommended.

Every salmon dish we are was delicious. Come early during dinner to avoid the tour group reservations .

The sushi , noodle bowls , and bento boxes are fantastic; really excellent legit Japanese. The restaurant itself is about one grade up from a high school cafeteria . But it's worth it!

Not fancy but super solid Japanese food with an amazing view of the lake . Salmon anything is a good bet!

Having lunch with breathtaking view n very very fresh n nice sashimi ! I will come again to lake tekapo for this Japanese cuisine!

The views of the lake are superb until shortly after sundown (only a reflection of inside the restaurant after dark).

Sit by the window for sunset and order the cooked Japanese small dishes and soups .

Be prepared to be turned away, no reservation no table even when it’s practically only half full. What’s so great w takeaway food anyway? Go to Ramen Tekapo

Very popular due to limited choices in the area. Make reservation . Bento was good value and Salmon Don was ok. Overall, not fantastic but adequate.
