The pork scratchings are some of the best in Oxford! Lovely friendly pub with great staff . One of my favourites!
Sunny and spacious , as these old pubs go... and the beer selection is quite respectable. Will come back for sure.
Great pub - get stuck in with a conversation with the regulars ... always friendly
This pub has a great selection of local ales and beers
Large but homely pub . Serves great real ale .
Try the pork scratchings ! Best in Oxford!
Nice English pub with some rowing paraphernalia around the place
nice pub but think they need to refresh the real ale selection
Worth a visit for a pub on the Morse trail
Nice atmosphere, good beer selection
A good pub , relatively cheap and nice-looking, but it should really have a student discount seeing as St John's College owns it
Definitely try the home brew , lamb and flag gold!
Doesn't take card - make sure you bring cash
Sample their Belgie range!
Great local beer , however nothing to eat but chips
Roast beef & horseradish sandwich is not worth ordering. Beer came to the rescue though.
Their burgers are not that great, go for something else at this really nice pub !
Also, no credit cards? Really?
Very cosy pub - Tolkien and C.S. Lewis would still get a pint here.
The Cheddar and Bacon burger comes recommended, along with the great value Prixe Fixe menu – yum! - Ken Chatfield
Great pub with strong literary connections. Great real ale. - Carl Griffin
Cosy atmosphere. Great coffee and hot chocolat! The service was excellent! - Sarah Snoeck
Amazing fish and chips plus try the plum Titanic stout. Loads of staff, busy with good reason. - Rob Deane
Great cocktails, but do not order their chips and salsa (it’s an abomination). - Ro J
