Beautiful temple - can get very hot during a day visit. Watch out for corrupt police who expect tips for taking a photo - they are carrying guns so either pay or decline the photo politely

More quaint and quiet than the Egyptian Museum at Cairo, which can be a good thing :) They have a few mummies too, but some of the statues from the temples are in pristine shape.

Check out the new exhibit with 24 recently excavated statues of gods and pharaohs, some of them life size. Many are in perfect condition - you'd never guess they were over three millennia old!

Quiet museum with welcome air conditioning ! Lots of interesting artefacts. Sign says no photos but some of the guards will turn a blind eye (not all expecting a tip either).

Best to visit at night as there are less people and its not so hot! plus being in the temple at night is amazing :)

Luxor, once an Ancient Egyptian capital, is known today as the world's "greatest open-air museum ."

Not only a good record of pharaonic age. It contains many structures from Greek, Roman, Coptic and Islamic ages. Condition of its structures is very good.

The museum is open from 9am - 5pm with no afternoon closure they have added some new pieces well worth a visit. Lacks a place to get a drink from so take something with you

This Temple was built in 1400BC ,now there is an open air museum on the back yard of the Temple you can visit for no extra fee

Don't go in the morning or afternoon, you can't tolerate the hot sun. However, after the sunset it's marvelous what they did with the lights.

The Luxor temple in the morning light is a lovely place to be (open daily 6am to 9.30pm, £5).

Track closer to the entrance is northbound to Cairo. Lower numbered car towards the back of the platform .

Please anyone have a bribe incidents or see a corrupted police officer or guard report them immediately to your tour company or tourism police to make it a better place

Beautiful, huge and dream temple .

Arrive around 5 so you can enjoy the sunset and the Temple under the lights after dusk.

Also visited after 6 pm but the lights failed after about 30 minutes so maybe get here at 5.30 to be on the safe side.

Make sure you get to see the open museum , easily missed. Especially if you are on a guided tour .

Much smaller than Karnak and mostly in ruins.

Come after 4 pm its amazing

price is now 80 LE, so make sure you give yourself at least 2 hours before the mid-afternoon closure. they don't let you back in.

Stunning temple !!

When I was here in Easter 2012 there was no afternoon closure , just a standard 5pm closing.

I'm on the road without tickets can watch.
